Has it ever occurred to you to that people know what the purpose of the US should be in the world, that they agree with the causes. It is the reality of US actions that people are fed up with.

Wanna know why the UN didn't go into Rwanda? Because the US and France were pissing around in Africa and didn't want anybody to get in the way of their little imperialist actions because the mineral deposits there mean big money. The whole thing was set off by the Rwandan president's plane being shot down by an American-made surface to air missile that was last recorded being found by the French in Iraq during the Gulf War. It seems to have found its way into the hands of the people the US was supporting in Uganda.

Why the hell should we support things like that? Why the hell won't the US take responsibility for their involvement? To their credit, the French at least acknowledged that they may have played a part. While they haven't changed their ways and deny any direct responsibility, they have appointed a judge to look into complicity by French companies in foreign countries. That judge may yet indict Dick Cheney for things he did when he headed Halliburton...the scope of the investigation is far reaching and the connections between French and US imperialism keep popping up.

You want to know how to improve the USA's image abroad? Quit killing people for money. You should live in the greatest democracy on earth, but you've let a bunch of two-bit gangsters run the place since at least 1980. After 9-11, you had the empathy of most of the world. A few months later, under the leadership of your gangster elite, you were the most disliked nation on earth.

The thing is that after your 9-11 (as opposed to the one you inflivted on Chili) the world thought that the US would maybe become a little introspective...would wonder why somebody hated them so much that they were willing to fly planes into buildings. There was no introspection at all...no examination of foreign policy, no thought of examining root causes.

Instead your boy king stood up, said that it happened because people were jealous and that the American thing to do was get out the credit cards and go shopping while your rights and freedoms were being raped. Everybody in the US cheered while the rest of the world stepped back in abject horror. Many Americans (real ones, as opposed to the blindly jingoistic irresponsible fools so readily apparent on FOX) were just as horrified as the rest of the world. People like you shouted them down, calling them communists and trrorists and taitors for daring to stand up for your country's stated beliefs.

Now you come to a Canadian site and whine like spoiled brats because people are complaining about Amerika's actions. You stick your chests out like little boys and shout about how nobody understands. You jam your military records in our faces.

You know who has a real military record? Romeo Dallaire. He was the Canadian in charge of the UN mission in Rwanda. The guy your country and France kept the UN from helping. He tried to stop the genocide. He did his best. He put his life and those of his men in danger every day. He was trying to save lives while your leaders were killing people for money.

So tell me all about what a couple of brave men you are, how great your military is. Do not, not even for a second, try to pretend that your leaders are innocent or better than others, or even competent. Instead take a look around and see what has been done in your country's name and then work to give the world a reason to respect you.

Oh my, why do you amaercans think that anyone else in the world wants to live like you? Wants to believe what you do? whats you to impose your beliefs on them? Why did the world support the first Iraqi war and not the second?

And how dare you say that the US was upholding UN resolutions when the UN didn't support the invation? That agrument is insane.

In the first Iraq war Canada went with you with bells on, in Afganastan we went with bells on. They were globally sanctioned actions and the world went in as one voice for freedom and democracy. The secon Iraq war had nothing to do with liberation, WMD, or freeing the Iraqi people. It was all about the US getting it hands on the oil and the whole world knows it, well except those who have swallowed the propaganga from your president.

If you want to see for yourself, go and listen to Johnson's and Nixon's interviews before , during and after the Vietnam war. See if you hear the same half truths and lies out of Bush's mouth that those two president fed your nation for almost two decades. The speeches and press releases from today are almost word for word what the old ones said.Desire for peace, liberating a people from dicatorship. History is repeating itself and Americans are dieing for all the wrong reasons again. Dieing for peace and freedom is a good thing, dieing for money and lies is just a waste. Your government is killing your people and they don't give a shit about it. Wake up and save your people.

with posts like that form Americans on these forums, I seriously start to doubt if there are any intelligent people down there, I know i have met them on my many travels to the USA, but sometimes I need reminding.

Well yesterday in the ferry linup there was 2 very nice american ladies, with John kerry bumber stickers and, "Peace is patriotic stickers". So i know there is hope, to all you american's who are not closed minded and can see the light, I thank you, keep up the fight.

Sigh... It takes a lot of convincing Canadaka. People are torn between their pride for their country and what they know to be morally right. They are here, they are weighing what is happening, how the world is looking at them. The shock and awe with their governments choices is beginning to grow.

On a side note how come I haven't been able to log on for a few days?
