Seeing as Republicans especially dislike unions, is it just because they're protecting the bank accounts of big business? Or is it also because they consider unions to be a Socialist construct?

If Bart was here he could give a succinct answer. I surmise a little bit of column A but it is being covered up by column B (Socialist construct). Always follow the money. The rank and file will believe anything they are peddled but the real power is were the money is and they see Unions as a threat to their total control and will crush any dissent like a fascist.
Oh FFS a socialist construct. Just like public medicine may have started by social movements but forget the fact the entire rest of the planet adopted it it still must be equal to Marxism.
They don't like unions because they're bone fucking srupid brainwashed imbeciles politically. Stupid enough to believe if the Boss makes more, he'll pay you more because you're a good hard working Protestant.

Riiight. Which is why there are Democrat run states (New York being one of them) where employees who are special needs can be paid WAY less than minimum wage. Because socialists truly do care.
As for unions, kind'a ironic that calls to defund the police rang out from the leftards because bad cops couldn't be fired because of how unions operate. The cop that killed George Floyd apparently had a laundry list of complaints against him. Thank the good lord he had union protection so he couldn't be fired until he killed an unarmed person.

Usually the same half ass that didn't even monitor them during the probationary hriing period and has whined ever since while he ignore the next newbie as well.
As for cops, they're just historically entitled to get away with murder unions or not, never mind even getting relegated to a desk or mail room.
