what does that even mean?? nobody cares that america doesn't care? i understand the concept of double negatives. but here it makes absolutely no sense.

It's not a double negative, and it does make sense.

Those Americans who feel the need to constantly make known the strength of their country are acting like dickheads. We all know how large the American influence is, but using it as a threat or an insult is arrogant and unecessary.

hey i never said it wasn't arrogant. i was just telling u why most americans don't care what foreigners think about them.

For the people who do hate the US it won't be for much longer. They won't be the Worlds Super Power for much longer. China or India are making their way up and the US is falling. So bad that i just heard on the news that the CANADIAN DOLLAR might get as high as 90 cents next year.

The U.S. and India will own the 21st Century. China, unfortunately, has issues.

All they have to do is step up and i don't think the US could be able to stop them.

Do you really think the US would blow up the earth just because they didn't have the controll they do now?

Which is why im telling you the rest of the world doesn't care what Americans think of foreigners. That is their problem, which drastically needs changing and pretty damn quick. Rhetoric aside, its pretty damn simple.

You make the handover of control sound so easy- as if bitter tensions worse than the Cold War would not be a part of it.

I just don't see a massive World War III happening becasuse the US didn't have, oh i dunno, controll of the dollar or something. They can't stay the world super power forever and i think the time is coming soon. In my life time at least.

Projections show India rising, the U.S. steadily growing, the E.U. waning, and China suffering another setback as its cities fail, but rebounding back nonetheless.

or you know, we could all get along and no one would be the super power. Man finally working together? Maybe forced to work together because of an alien invasion

For every group of Elois, there is always a hungry Warlock.

The point of the quote is that people don't hate Americans.

I don't think it shows any such thing, though hate is an overloaded, overemotional word. There are certainly countries whose citizens believe the US is generally not a force for good, who nevertheless offered aid. In the US Government commisioned 2004 Pew research poll (Pew global attitudes project), the following countries gave the US a favourability rating of less than 50%, yet they offered us post-Katrina aid: Spain, Germany, France, UAE, Venezuela, Indonesia, Russia, and South Korea. There are probably more, but this is all I could verify.
You are very wrong to think that the fact that they sent humanitarian aid, or were willing to, means they don't still dislike the US, it's foreign policy, cultural imperialism, and all the other stuff that's hashed over on this site on a daily basis.
Let me see if I can put it it terms you might understand. I believe a religious book you know says something like: “if your enemy is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give him something to drink". Seems to me that acknowledges it is a perfectly reasonable to consider someone an ENEMY, and yet to help them when their minimum physical needs aren't being met. Disagreements can been taken up again another day.
