The Greatest American?

I know there are a number of Americans on this site so this link is for them:
Nominees for "greatest American" unveiled.
I'm interested in who everyone else here thinks should be the "greatest american".
I'll get the ball rolling.... I'd vote for FDR.

I'm torn between FDR and Lincoln.

The guy was a fraud, he didn't invent the light bulb, he bought the patent of a Canadian. Just to name one of his many Patent he so developed...

I know People will think Iam crazy for this. but I have to say Goerge Washington For he could have been King if he wanted and set pressident by only serving two terms. And said that no one man should serve that long in goverment. IMHO he shaped North America! That mean Canada too

Jefferson and Twain are my favorites. Telsa and Einstein are greats but Washington should be 1st.
