Ever volunteer to work an election?

As a scrutineer, many times.

Voted by mail last week.

You trust that?

-J.

You've been influenced by that idiot we call Trump.

Holy f**k Raydan, all I did was ask a question! What the hell does Trump have to do with any of this? I've only known one or two people that actually vote by mail, and it's something I personally wouldn't do because of delivery issues I've had with normal mail and small packets over the years.

Most days, the postal services are great. Some days, it can be a crap shoot.

It should also be noted that the mail for the ballot is within the riding, not across Canada delivering a package. So there is a lot less that can go wrong. I requested my ballot online and I got it 2 days later.

This will answer all your questions. See the section "Can I track my ballot?".

That's fine, I get that. I don't understand the Trump reference whatsoever.

That mirrors my experience exactly. On line request, ballot delivered in two days, mailed out the next. My wife and grand daughter voted yesterday in the advanced poll.

More of a GQP reference in general IMO, given how much the Repulsicans in the US have gone out of their way to nuke any alternative voting practices like mail-in, even when there's practically zero evidence at all that any fraud at all has occurred from mail-in. Or advanced polling. Or from driving seniors or poor people to polling stations. Or on college campuses. Or absolutely ridiculous gerrymandering. They've more than proven that they'll do literally anything in order to suppress voting for the other side.

It's a reasonable suspicion that certain hardcore conservatives, or the right-wingers as they should more accurately be called, in Canada would soon try the same tactics to suppress the "enemy" vote the same way the GQP has in the US. Given the potential crookedness surrounding Jason Kenney's win for UCP leader in Alberta happened, with other candidates being exposed as frauds who were in the race not to win but who were there just to take out Brian Jean and clear the path for Kenney, it's a legitimate concern. And Brian Jean was a real conservative too, and an evangelical church member as well, but he still just wasn't far enough to the right for the liking of the powers-that-be behind the UCP. Given how toxic politics in Canada has become over the last several years it's reasonable to expect many more attempts of the right will happen as the hard-right/social-right has pretty much openly embraced a "fair means, and foul ones too if necessary" in their desire to win.

I do!

I don't understand how you can't.

EDIT: Instead of giving you a link this time, I'll show you how you can find out information. Google "Trump mail-in ballots".

Already rumours not to use the pencil they give you to mark your ballot - the ballot counters will just erase it and mark it for Trudeau...

Scape @ Tue Sep 14, 2021 7:37 pm

Elections Canada: An estimated 5 780 000 electors voted at advance polls, an 18.46% increase from 2019

Can I bring my own pencil to mark my ballot?

Yes. Electors are welcome to bring their own pen or pencil to mark their ballot. Single-use pencils will also be provided.

Do you ever get tired of being wrong?

Except I'm not wrong.

Forget about this already? Until the media confronted Singh about the 'extreme' policies in the NDP playbook, he had no problem with having a policy that would abolish the military completely.

Except, that isn't what you wrote, was it? You wrote all NDPers have no military experience. That's the problem with blanket statements like that.

Because the question was considered a 'leading question'. People concluded that you were trying to direct the conversation in a particular direction, instead of just asking a question.
