The other problem with this nonsense is that it takes attention away from the left’s legitimate points on income distribution. The Toronto Star has doubled down on identity politics since Haroon Siddiqui retired, with the likes of Shree Parkadar and Azeezah Kanji spewing out ever more over-the-top accusations of system racism, sexism and fill-in-the-blank-phobia. Really, of the Star’s columnists, only Linda McQuaig has consistently kept her eye on the “go after the rich” ball. The rest are either wading or full-blown swimming in the toxic pool of identity politics.

Everyone is in the identity politics pool especially you. How many threads have you started about “Liberals” and “urbanists”?

In fact I’ve come to believe that identity politics is a redundant term and all politics is identy politics. Politcs is basically different groups in society competing for power and everyone choses a group based on their preferred identity.

Yes, the word identity can be used to refer to self-chosen group affiliations, but identity politics is not about groups you have chosen to join, but instead those that have been forced on you by nature or the culture/society around you. It assigns guilt based not on choosing to be be a white supremacist, but rather the simple fact of being white, about which one is expected to constantly self-flagellate in order to be considered an “ally” (or at least not passively culpable).

Keep in mind that this is all about a collectivist ideology, so individual agency and choice are irrelevant. You are guilty for the crimes of your race/gender/ethnic group/sexual orientation, as you are merely an instance of those collectives, the sum of which define everything about you as a person.

This is the type of ideology that mass graves are made of, not that these little academic snowflakes would be the ones getting their hands dirty.

Diversity is great for the glowbullist divide-and-conquer agenda.

No it’s both. Look at the NRA lobby and Trump supporters and all their shit about being meat-eating truck driving macho men and how Liberals are “effeminate” because they drive a Prius, and are offended by animal cruelty.

..or being a Muslim or Black or living downtown.

setting aside your “collectivist” gobbledygook that describes pretty much everyone. Look at how Republicans talk about Muslims for example.

The only people I’ve heard endorse mass graves are Republicans sympathizing with ethnic cleansing of Muslims (see: comments on Myanmar, Bosnia, similar sentiments about Abi Ghraib, Muslim civilians, etc.).

Love the right wing logic here. It was the failure of multiculturalism in Yugoslavia that drove the citizens to fascist inspired genocides... it's gonna happen here.

Year after year, watching the neighbours wear brown hats and pink scarves instead of black and white ones, going to the 11:00 service instead of the 9:30 one... those people taking the family to Dennys after church instead of IHOP... we HAD TO machine gun them in massgraves to save our culture....

So you’re referring to a multicultural state that was held together by totalitarian force and dominated by one ethnic group. Lovely example there.

Somewhere along the line, the academic left decided that the poor rural white guy was more fun as a target than the rich urban white guy.
“Ha ha, you ignorant trailer-dwelling cracker. You failed at life in spite of all the privilege you have. Now take down that flag and that picture of Jesus and start apologizing for being a straight cis-gendered white male.”

Yeah, the 'totalitarian' Yugoslavia. Where they ethnic cleansed minorities with seats in gov't, pissed of the USSR and were instrumental in the non-aligned movement.

Academic Marxists have come to realize that they lost the ideological battle when the Berlin Wall came down. The vast majority of people in the West do not want an end to private property, and like the presence of a private sector, even if some wish it more regulated. Even the Nordic countries have private enterprise and private property. Many are concerned about distribution of income/wealth, but see the remedy as a return to the post-war consensus rather than a Marxist revolution.

Where does that leave the Marxist professor? With no option but to try to tear down Western society in the hopes that they will get to rebuild from the ashes. Identity politics is a key part of this scorched earth strategy. Program the students in this destructive ideology, then turn them loose on social media. Perhaps the “W” is SJW should stand for “weapon”, not “warrior”. These people aren’t warriors. They’re being wielded.

Irrelevent.
The vast majority of people in the West depend upon supply chains that no sane individual could possibly imagine.

Up against the wall along with all of the other professors. They are all the same.
Give up the fake MarxistVSCapitalist theater.
