No I don't think they will to the letter, they have strayed too far already but, they do seem to crisscross it from time to time. It could just be a massive red herring or psych out. They did the same thing with his infected hand in another episode in season 6 hinting maybe he would need to chop it or something. Keeps us guessing.

I do think eventually he will lose it, once we are like "oh yeah, we've seen this before", then it happens and we are like"noooo wayyy!!!"

The writers are good and they have a great antagonist to work with this season which I'm pretty excited about.

When Rick told Negan he's going to kill him that was BOSS.

Yep reminds me of his promise to Gareth in Season 5. Rick likes to keep his promises. 8O

I would be so mad at Darryl....

Thanos @ Sun Oct 23, 2016 9:30 pm

Yup, Daryl dumb-fuck turned a one-off into an un-necessary twofer.

BeaverFever @ Sun Oct 23, 2016 9:34 pm

I guess that's why the writers had to remove him from the others, or else the audience would focus on him too much

Good episode in a lot of ways. But IMO, it was too much sadism stretched out over the episode. Imagine if the Red Weding was the whole episode.

They were in enough trouble from the season six finale where there was a (rather childish and stupid) fan chimp out about not showing the Negan beating. As such they probably didn't want to risk another bitch session erupting if they used up time tonight to see what was happening with Carol/Morgan/Tara. Hence the end to end tension. For me it worked because it was 90% psychological and 10% gore. Plus the huge emphasis that they've finally run into a genuine well-organized bad-ass warlord this time who broke them. Not some nutty cannibals, not a crazy sadist looking to hurt for thrills, not a bunch of scummy bandits. Someone who's building something from the wreckage and just won't allow either competition or dissent. Lawful evil is usually a lot more dangerous (and fun) than it's idiot chaotic counterpart ever is.

Rick has to be the worst leader ever because once again his plan back fired and two of his people paid the price. Can't blame Negan they started shit with him killing his people and he finished it making the group his bitch.

BeaverFever @ Mon Oct 24, 2016 10:26 am

And it still hasn't occurred to him that they should move to an island.

Carol's going to come back to save the day again and Negan is going to get a fucking cookie. :D

I'm one of those who think that was Walking Dead's "jump the shark" episode.
Dragged thru a whole season to get to it, went overboard with gratuitous torture porn, for the umpteenth time killed off the character with any remaining moral character...
I'll watch the next few episodes but I have the feeling I no longer give a shit about the show.
Fucking comic book anyway.
