Threads blocks searches related to covid and vaccines as cases rise

No surprise really. That is a rather interesting selection of other words and phrases that are also considered no-nos.

Social media = censorship

There does not seem to be a general consensus about Covid these days. The other day I went into a store and every employee was wearing a mask. Every one? That can't be a coincidence. That has to be a store policy. My hotel has gone in the opposite direction. They have removed all of the hand sanitizer dispensers from the common areas. They say that it sets the wrong example. I went to my neighborhood pub last night to watch the MNF game. The bar is full of video poker machines. There used to be (just a week ago) a bottle of hand sanitizer at every machine. Now they are gone. I think that it makes sense to have them there regardless of Covid. People are constantly coughing and sneezing into their hands and then touching the buttons on these machines. There are lots of other germs that I do not wish to catch. Bring back the dispensers I say. Make it a law. Put them at every door handle or elevator button that you have to touch.

Yeah I don’t get that either. Hand sanitizers are good hygiene Covid or not.

Hospitals are wanting masks back, I'm fine with that even without covid.

I agree! When my partner was in the hospital for 16 days back in May and I was in and out daily visiting him it was annoying how many people were maskless and coughing as they walked around in the hallways and elevators. Fortunately there were many sanitizer stands everywhere for the rest of us.

All the public health doctors are wearing masks. Just sayin'

I was in two different medical facilities today and no one was wearing masks. You used to be required to put on a mask to enter. The desk where security used to sit at was still there with a pile of masks hanging out, but no security guard. Also the signs stating that masks were required had been removed. You would think that medical facilities (especially ones that serve decrepit old fucks like me ) would want to stay ahead of the game.

I really lucked out as my last surgery was just before the pandemic started. I heard that people were dying because they could not get into surgery due to the pandemic. I need another surgery so I think that I am going to expedite it before the shit hits the fan again. I had to get a bunch of test done today to make sure that I don't drop dead on the table. I really did not want another surgery at my age but the problem is not going away. Someone pointed out that I may as well get it done while my body can still heal itself. That makes sense. I'm not getting any younger. Its a mobility issue. I see all these old people using walkers to get around. I would like to forestall that as long as possible. Hopefully never.

I hear ya man. I'm one slip on the ice away from a walker or wheelchair. XD
