Regardless of your politics, it is considered rude to come into anothers 'home' and speak in a language that they don't understand. To continue such practice and you could end up being ignored completely!
Just so that my meaning is clear.
I took French in school
My 2 oldest kids were in French immersion for years
Their mother is French
My 2 youngest kids took French all through school
It cannot be said that I have anything against 'the French' (not including my ex)!lol
I am saying however that, in general, CKA is an English speaking forum. So in kind, when participating in the general discussions, please stick to English as that is the 1st language of the majority here. If you wish to converse in your mother tongue, then start another thread 'for French only'.
To do otherwise, you run the risk of being ignored and may find yourself 'on the outside looking in'!
why 'for French only'??? would you ignore it even if you had something to say, just because your 1st language is English???
If that were interesting, I would try to read it at least...

JEEZUZ CRISE ALMIGHTY !
I don't know if I can make this any clearer but for those of you who are a 'little bit slow', I will type this slowly'!
I do not mean a thread 'for French people only'!
I mean that if you wish to converse in a language other than that which the majority speak then START ANOTHER THREAD and do so.Then anyone who is interested or has the understanding of THAT language can join in.
For example; If you ask me a question in English and I answer in Hindi and another comes back at you in German... Do you get my drift now????
Again, I don't have anything against ANY OTHER LANGUAGE.

I'm from the Pontiac region in Québec, but I'm no separatist. Here's some info on me:
I belive in Socialism and Communism
Hey Nick,
Only curious as to which Quebec political party you could be affiliated with. There is both the Quebec Solidaire and the PQ which could be more up your alley, yet they are separatists parties.
Oh well, there is always the Communist party of Canada lol !
Also, as far as the Conservatives in the province of Quebec, only take a look at the Quebec City region.
By the way, where the heck is Pontiac? I am also from Quebec. No clue to where it is. Oh well, so much for the provincial geography. Could it be near Herouxville? LOL

I don't want the French language to die out. If you got that, I am sorry. But I am stating that it is.
Hmm... chances are I overreacted. My apologies. I tend to be easily riled from over the internet. Very, very easily. Too easily. I should try harder to remain calm. It's hard when a subject as touchy (at least fo me) as this one is at hand. Sorry again.

This makes some sense, but the discussion going between me and Nick was in fact entirely unrelated to the topic at hand - I only wrote in French so to appear... how to say it... "closer" to Nick. Or something.

The Pontiac region is really big. Cross the Ottawa river anywhere from Petawawa to Ottawa and your in the Pontiac.(on the Québec side, it starts right before the city of Alymer.)
Do you live in a
red house and use a sickle to cut the grass?
I'll get to the hammer later.

I concur.
I've been at formal function where French Officers would demean and insult the English Officers in French but what they failed to understand was I speak french and I made sure I took the time to translate their insults and insubabordanate behavior. Twas tacky and childish.

I think that we, french-speaking canadians, understand that this forum his
used by a majority of english speakers.
But lets have some respect, because both cultures are great and us wanting to
preserve our héritage francophone dosen't mean that we hate people who only speak english
I can get down with that.

But seriously dude, How can you be a communist within Quebec? Socialist, yes. I can understand. But.... calisse!
Are you a PQ undercover?
So that means you would like the likes of the traitors like Elvis and Numure ( only those are examples)
Of course, this is a joke, but at what cost, separatists are a fucking joke anyways.
