Those are 19% sour gas lines he landed on,instant death if they would have ruptured as they were hot.

So the hydrogen sulfide would have poisoned him?

The lightning strike was behind the rig and didnt hit it and if it did they have ground rods driven into the ground just in case because thats one mighty big lightning rod.

live and learn,no power lines where I was the last year and a half.
DBC is looking for an experienced hoe operator here, with exceptional skills around everything that can be buried in the ground, fiber optics everything. And everything is main lines between Cal and Ed. Sounds like it's just calling for you Zig. There’s about a km of that.

I dont like digging hotlines, too many chances for screw-ups if everything isnt located and lot's of times it isnt, especially fibre optics and I wouldnt want to hit one of those.Plus the shite flows downhill.
I've been having fun trying to get this 16 kliks of ten inch set up for the mainline crew next week.

Just me,the spread,a labourer, hoe hand and fuser here right now.We have all the drags fused,3/4 of the directional done, pipe set out,a section stripped and 5 kliks ready for mainline to start digging.
This will be sweet as the ROW runs right adjacent to the old railway right of way that used to run through Coronation.Lots of railroad spikes, got a flat third pass stripping the first 100 meters last week so we will use the hoe's.
The spread here is an excellent guy and friend and his #1 concern after getting the pipe in the ground is haveing fun.
I also found out why so many of the gals in town are blonde after I saw the sign for the Norwegian trail.
So I'm having fun and have plans for later in the summer for another job which I will enjoy and hopefully will be doing for a long time.
Thanks though for the tip,I do know a few excellent hoe operators that might be interested though and I'll see them this weekend when I get home.

Killed him very quickly and you dont want to know what your body go's through in the first few seconds of being exposed to H2S.
Your instructed in training to run as fast as you can, forget about your bud if he's close to the leak and down as you wont be able to drag him to safety.
Wave goodbye, save your ass. Look for the windsock and run upwind if you can.
Find a Scottpack and then you can retrieve the body.
Most leaks happen at compressor stations where they have windsocks, some happen while digging.
There's probably hundred's of thousands of miles of that sour gas line buried in Alberta.
