had a notice of prohibition served to me on friday. lost my job as i did delivery. also i live with my father who is 72 (im 23) and support him he is disabled, i shop and sometimes buy groceries, as well as pickup prescriptions.
the reason why i lost my license is because on december 24th 2007 i got a 3 point ticket on my N for having a third passenger. then on july 17th 2008 i hit a city pole late at night in poor visibility. my airbag popped and couldnt restart, left the scene and was later served a ticket for leaving the scene of the accident. i was re-assured that it wasnt going to affect my driving record.
as of friday the 2 tickets equaling 6 points means that i cant drive till april 1st 2009.
ive either a officer lie to me or he didnt know what he was talking about. and a icbc automated system take 5 months to determine that im a public safety issue. im only allowed one submission to victoria and cannot speak to anybody personally on the matter and if my appeal is turned down i cannot appeal another time.
im thinking of signing up for the canadian forces its my only way to feed myself. i havnt paid enough into IE to collect welfare.
another fact is ive been driving with an N since june 2006 so my first offense was committed until 17 months after getting my N. they dont even care about time frame or statistics they just add up points which wont leave your record...unless you get a class 5 but i didnt rush to book for a test because i was assured it wouldnt affect my driving and ive been busy working 7 days a week.
i said not what you think because it wasnt a DUI or any injured people.
I agree, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Driving is a priviledge, not a right. 'You abuse it. you lose it'!
Time to 'man up'. Take responsibility for your actions, and if/when your driving licence is reinstated, treat it with the respect that WE deserve!
If you drive like you write then you should not be allowed to even walk near a road.
Hmmm, I guess he found out now that CKA is not really the place to come for pitty
I've heard of issues with ICBC before, My company offers PDIC courses to our drivers and if they have a BC license they do not get points knocked off their abstracts (as opposed to Alberta where they do).
But I agree with Lily, ignorance is not an excuse.
The extra passenger thing is lame, I don't support that restriction however, that is the rule and you broke it.
How the hell do you ram a utility poll?
Whatever, the system works an unskilled driver is off the road. Best try finding a job within biking distance.
ICBC and the police didn't force you to violate the conditions of your 'N' by carrying too many passengers (it's the same conditions whether you had your 'N' for one day or a thousand days). Nor did they cause you to crash into a hydro pole (those things aren't placed on the middle of the road, so night time or not, poor visibility or not, there's no good reason to hit one). Nor did ICBC or the police put a gun to your head and told you to run like a puppy after they just pooed on the floor after you had the accident. You made those decisions, you caused the accident, you chose to run away, therefore the only person you have to blame is yourself. If you're going to join the CF because it's a steady paycheque then you're in for a miserable time. The CF is a calling, it's not just a paycheque. If you're miserable failing to accept responsibility in civilian life, you'll be doubly miserable not accepting repsonsibility in the CF. If I were you I'd be thinking about how I can avoid screwing up in the future instead of thinking about who else I can blame because I don't want to act like an adult.
*yawn*.. just another one who is convinced the rules don't apply to him.
well, guess he will figure it out.
hopefully after he takes another driving course.
you people are pretty dumb.
i ran like a puppy? i didnt know you were there in the shadows to see what i did or didnt do.. why didnt you lend me your cell phone i left because it was a deserted empty road and was raining and foggy and my windows were steamed....maybe you arent familiar with annacis island/queensborought at night............
a bad driver? this is the most patronizing self absorbed elitist place ive ever posted in. but thats british columbia. land of the self righteous. where everybody wants to be a nurse or be on the government payroll.
Im probably a better driver than all of you cause I spend probably 10 times the amount of time on the road and have less driving offenses. i put aproximately 50k km per year and in 3 years have 2 offences, none of which are reckless driving, speeding, racing etc etc. and honestly buddy driving is pretty good at where i work. most people i shut up pretty fast when i tell them i make 900 per week and i dont report my tips. i guess some of you hate your gutter installation or other blue collar jobs thats ok ive been there even while i was doing delivery and i never told anybody what i did. i understand you work hard for a paycheck and gotta party hard come friday and dont want to realize that i make more in 7 hours of delivery than you do at 20 per hour doing your apprenticeship for whatever trade.
and some of you are probably UBC graduates. well go choke on a latte and i hope a terrorist blows you and your slut gf at the 2010 winter olympics while you wear your made by children 200 dollar name brand shirt. yeah i wear some expensive clothe too. but im not an asshole who deserves to be die in collateral damage like some of you are.
the problem i have is i paid for the pole and my car no questions and was told by a police officer that it wasnt going to affect my driving record? did anyone miss that?
How exactly is it fair that a computer program dictates my life. why should i have to wait that long and then hand over my license, then appeal, then get it back? Youre going to say...because im so dangerous to everybody else, a high risk. but then usually people who are at high risk are taken seriously enough to not be allowed to continue driving right? like somebody who commits assult has a warrant issued pretty fast. it doesnt sit in a database until the system decides to churn it out x months later.
you people are douchebags and I know everything the CF and what id be getting myself into. im a pretty hard worker and have a high threshold for physical pain. I'd probably have a shot at JTF2 if I applied myself.
and of course it should matter how long. I already pointed out im past my due date to apply for the class 5 and if i had passed the test prior to this notice of prohibition. this notice wouldnt even apply to me anymore. so how would i not be allowed to drive when a ICBC road tester might've passed me on the class 5 test?
because some fucking faggot told me i shouldnt even be allowed to walk near roads.
If you meant what you said, ill give you my name and you can send in a letter in to ICBC giving your reasons why i shouldnt even be allowed to walk next to a road. say you fear your kids might be in danger based on what you read on an anonymous message board, put some effort into that letter maybe itll keep me even off the sidewalks. maybe you all can petition maybe for my incarceration. Does anyone want my info so you can take it to the authorities? if not id gladly like you to STFU and this thread should be locked. thought this place wouldve had a balance of idiots and rational people.
Thats not a rational thing to say.
Because you have your license doesn't mean you dont speed. for all anyone knows you might street race in richmond but simply havnt been caught.
go ahead and refute that logic.
people like me. you know the situation so well. how is it that you know it better than me who lived it?
i actually didnt hit the pole very hard it simply made my airbag go off. i was looking for an address where there also werent any streetlights. if you want some more info my mother was dying that month and i had a lot on my mind. the damages came to 328 dollars for the pole.
Again how do you know how fast i was going. i was going maybe 40km at the most so i probably was going under the speed limit.
i think you have a case of demonizing people to justify the ridiculous rules we have in place. youre so whipped by the system that you defend it all costs and consider it your family and do everything you can to obey and be the teachers pet for the system. so when anyone does anything remotely wrong or questionable. you've established yourself on one side of the tracks with the system thats being hard on the perosn on the other....its just an elitist brown nosing phenomenon.
you'll defend and rip into other people until the day things go wrong for you, in which case you'll be dealing with people who act just like you are now and cast you onto the other side.
the system we have sucks, it puts out welfare to thousands of people who simply all the authorities know just go and buy crack/heroine minutes later.
if i told you the truth behind robert pickton you'd shit your pants.
ill say one thing...theres a reason noones laid a hand on him and why nobody will while he is incarcerated.
his farm was a place called piggy's palace and was a hells angels party ground.
i would know i come from an HA background.
