First black American president?

I never said Obama had anything to do with the Nation of Islam. Your words, Abbas, not mine. To my knowledge this is not true.
Personally, I am supporting Condoleeza Rice for President in 2008. I am on the record on this forum as saying so and a good number of GOP polls show her as ahead of any of the Republicans who have declared that they are running.
I think she'd be an excellent President.
That she is black and a woman is not material to me.
So far as the persecution of people who choose to leave islam goes, why listen to me? Why not go to this forum
http://www.exmuslim.com/ and discuss this with people who have left islam?
Why not ask "Condi" a few
questions first!

Today I heard Rudolph Guiliani will be running for president too.
What do you all think about that?

It depends on which GOP members vote in the primaries. Considering that Guiliani is from New York, supports gun control, abortion rights, and same-sex rights, he probably won't get far if the current Republican Party.
Bill Clinton was the first black President, so Obama will have to settle for second.
All I can say is that no matter what his color/colour Obama doesn't represent my interest.
What Obama does is make good press and draw attention to the Democrats. He is going to clash a little with Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton, not to mention the rest of the field. He will see what straw votes he can collect, maybe trade off his endorsement of another candidate for cabinet posts for his friends. All in all, Obama is in an incredible position as a U.S. Senator.
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO). speaks to my interest. I hope he can put together something.
I will make an early prediction: A big conservative (more conservative than Bush) push will be made to give Americans a rather polarized choice to make against a very liberal Democrat offering. People will choose which extreme they feel more comfortable with. The election will be close again and the winning side will declare a mandate as if they won by a landslide. It is getting impolite out there.
Obama is half White so how can he be the first Black Pres?
He may be the first half Black President.
I'd run for Pres but the negatives are daunting. I have no money, no ambition and not a Yankee citizen.
On the positive side if I did manage it I probably could get my extended family to vote for me.
[marq=right]Canadian crooks in jail can vote. American .. Y/N? [/marq]

Barack Obama is a closeted muslim - the son of muslim parents who started attending a Christian church (while never accepting baptism) only a couple of years ago when he started getting into politics.
As the facts of his life gain more traction on the net his political hopes will diminish accordingly.
Do you have to be a Christian to be President? I thought the US was a democracy. Just like a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jew, Rastafarian can become British Prime Minister then surely anyone of any religion can become US President.
Anyway, Obama's parents come from Kenya - a CHRISTIAN nation. 45% of Kenyans are Protestants and 33% are Catholic.
And only his father is black. His mother is a white woman born in Wichita in Kansas.
BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Too bad. Obama was raised by a muslim father and a muslim stepmother, Lolo Soetoro, and only affected a Christian image when he decided to pursue politics. His being a muslim is perfectly relevant to the discussion of his qualifications to lead the most powerful nation in the world.
Food for thought.
Lolo Soetoro is a man.

But all catholics are banned from marrying into the "royal" family. I thought the UK was a democracy?
Colin Powell would have made a great President. The only one is Bush's cabinet I repsected. Too bad the Idiot n' Chief forced him to go the UN and make a fool of himself.

I believe the U.K is a constitutional monarchy, just like tittle 'ol Sweden!
Personally, I'd be shocked if the US elected a black or female candidate.
I think the GOP must be drooling that Obama and Clinton are leading the Democratic charge. Beyond the race/sex factor, he's a 'muslim' and she's a Clinton? Tough sell.
I'd probably support McCain.
I have to agree with neopundit..it will be tough for either Obama or Clinton for those reasons..I don't have anything against a female or black President..those two don't have a chance....but none the less it will be interesting ..

We're not a Democracy, we're a Republic. It is a representative form of government. BTW, when is Canada going to have a black leader?

The republic you have is a representative democracy. Why does it matter if he's muslim or not? Is it because you like to generalize an entire religion as terrorists as a lot of people do? Your argument is dumb.
