First black American president?
Because he has lied about his time in a Madrassa (Islamic School)in an Islamic Country, and there are serious gaps he refuses to fill in about his formitive years. A liar is still a liar.
The point is the people who always say "Democracy democracy" think everything should be decided by popular vote. That's not the way it works, nor was it ever intended to. Now, there is suppose to be no religious test for office, but times do make people consider it regardless. The Constitution plainly spells out the qualifications.

"No person, except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office, who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States."

Why would it matter if he is black? I don't vote for people based on what they look like. Anyway it is the United States president they can elect whoever they want.
Didn't you state in another post that looks do matter in politics?
Do you figure Arnie is really that popular?
I heard some of that talk too. The Kennedy/Shriver connection makes that sort of inevitable I guess. If there is some truth to the matter, I'd be wondering if that political machine is focussing on Arnie and Maria's kids.

It wasn't intended to be a racial remark.
$1:
It would be interesting to see some color in the White House
How is that not a racial remark when you say it would be interesting to see some "colour". If it weren’t about race you would say, "What do you think about Mr.Obama possibly running for the United States president?" But if you want it to be about race and religion then a Negro Muslim probably has no chance.

LOL , he contradicts himself once again, Nice catch Clog.

Why does it matter if he's muslim or not?
As you may or may not recall, we are at war with radical islam (which, arguably, is very well represented in 'mainstream' islam).
Taking a guy who was raised to hate America and putting him in the most powerful office in the world might not be such a great idea.
Ya think?

No you missunderstood his silence, he's not Muslim (choke cough gag) he was studying Native Affairs in that Madressa not Islam. The gaps in his past (which he refuses to explain) were boy scout camps where he earned "Secret Badges" for badger hunting, Cough, choke gag. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????.
What matters is "will he represent my interest"?
At this point neither party represents my interest. Political parties are businesses that extract taxpayer money, they funnel the money to special interests in return for kickbacks. Political parties are money machines. People like Bush, Hillary, and Obama think of taxpayer money like I think about sex.
When I vote, I write my name into all the write-in slots.
The rest is soap opera.

Barack Obama is a closeted muslim - the son of muslim parents who started attending a Christian church (while never accepting baptism) only a couple of years ago when he started getting into politics.
As the facts of his life gain more traction on the net his political hopes will diminish accordingly.
Do you have to be a Christian to be President?
I thought the US was a democracy. Just like a Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jew, Rastafarian can become British Prime Minister then surely anyone of any religion can become US President.
Anyway, Obama's parents come from Kenya - a CHRISTIAN nation. 45% of Kenyans are Protestants and 33% are Catholic.
And only his father is black. His mother is a white woman born in Wichita in Kansas.
We're not a Democracy, we're a Republic. It is a representative form of government. BTW, when is Canada going to have a black leader?
The republic you have is a representative democracy. Why does it matter if he's muslim or not? Is it because you like to generalize an entire religion as terrorists as a lot of people do? Your argument is dumb.
When is Canada going to have a black PM? Still waiting.....
Read the US Constitution, it doesn't say anything about a democracy.
The USA as a whole is not a democracy, it is a representational republic. There are small towns across America that practice true democracy, but the Federal & State governments and the several counties and parishes do not practice democracy.

Well, we
do have a black Commander in Chief.
