I am considering immigrating to Canada, in the not too distant future, aka a yr or two. I was on the Fed. website, and saw that you need to qualify under a Skilled Worker exam, and put up $4000+, as well. Could anyone point me to info about immigration, or a way to get around the $4K. Yeah I know, "wetback", etc. anyway, thanks for any replies, be they good or bad..

btw, meant wetback as in a insult, not a way to cross over.. We don't like Mexicans taking our jobs, so I'm sure you guys don't want anyone taking yours.. but then, that is a rather "american" attitude. lol

ow, my self-esteem.. did you make that yourself, or find it somewhere?

ShepherdsDog @ Wed Nov 30, 2005 4:51 am

C'mon, do you think I'd be the first to make that assumption? Besides, my mother in law's family is from the Cresco area, so it's a casual observation.

Please move to Canada!

You cant come up with 4,000 dollars in 2 years? And you have yet to move and are already looking to get things for free! By trying to avoid the 4,000.

You would do great in Canada.

Canada needs Mexicans; the only time I can get Mexican food is when I go to the states. Please tell them to come to Canada and open some restaurants.

Hey Texas, how about we trade you some Indian restaurants for some Mexican. We will throw in a couple Chinese to sweeten the deal?

It's actually not hard......wait are you white? If you are, forget it.

Hey avrgdude79, Canada is getting ready to change governments. They may have a less liberal goverment in place by the time you get there. So .... it might be a lot like Iowa.. ha ha...

*jaw drops*
wow, shepardsdog.. I'm from New Hampton, about a 1/2 hr away from Cresco! Was just there w/my aunt and uncle for Thanksgiving.. small world, indeed..

And you all are right. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, w/this post.

The main reason I was asking is I've been talking for about 6 months to a girl from Kingston, Ont. Anyone here, have a sig. other from the other side of the border? just wondering.. :)

Kingston is where Canada has it's penitentiary, but thats ok it's empty.

SonOfSam @ Fri Dec 02, 2005 6:55 am

I am not disagreeing with you Pluggy, but why do you think the prison is empty?

I think it could be empty because of the kinds of judges we have in Canada, you know the ones, like the judge who let the "sleep raper" go free, and the judge who lifted all the restrictions on Homolka.

As for coming to Canada avrgdude, c'mon over, we take anybody and everybody.

I'd help you raise the $4K to get out of the country especially if you're a Democrat. If Canada wants you then that's their misfortune.

Don't think I'm kidding, as I'm not.

Please don't help him Bart. We don't want him. Any loser who has to go to the internet to find a chick needs to get a life.

BartSimpson your profile says BC at times. Why isn't it okay for avrgdude to make that choice as well, without animosity from you?
