March 29
That's right, that'll be the day I, my wife and my daughter will move to Canada. My wife will start her professional career in a hospital in quebec and I will start being a stay at home dad at first. After learning French, will start to work part time but having no idea what exactly I will do.
On the forum I've learnt more about Canadian politics and other current affairs and hopefully it will help me integrate better. I would like to get tips from you people to help me integrate better, anything will do. Tips on Canadian holidays, sightseeing, specific Canadian habits, you name it.
I heard for example that when you attend a BBQ, you have to bring your own beers, is that true?
Welcome to Canada, Panzer!
I hope you're aware of Quebec's language laws...

You will soon learn the famous term "double double" Timbit and roll up the rim. It is a coffee and doughnut chain of 2500 stores here called Tim Horton's, named for a famous Toronto Maple Leaf. Sorta a cultural icon here.

Timmys is short for Tim Hortons the best coffee shop chain ever, and 37 of those 2500 stores are in Oakville, and every single one still has a line on a Saturday morning

Well double double is two cream and two sugar in your coffee. Timbit is the hole from the doughnut...us thrifty Canucks waste nothing! and roll up the rim....hmmm Tim Horton's puts prizes under the rim of the paper cup..just roll it up to see if you won or not.
Timmys
Now Canadian Tire money is a whole nuther topic of discussion
