Ok Canadians. Let's see which part of Canada is the most beautiful. Personally I love northern Manitoba. I was born and raised in The Pas, Manitoba and have to say that the town is no roaring hell but 15 minutes north is Clearwater Lake Provincial Park. It is home of one of the three true blue lakes in the world. So clear that you can see the bottom in 35 feet of water.

The fishing is fantastic if you have the patience to sit for a few hours to catch a monsterous Lake Trout.

Let's tell it like it is and let the rest of the world know that we live in a gem of a country.

:) This will seem kind of funny since I am a born and bred Albertan. But to me Creston BC to me is one of the prettiest places I have been. LOL and it isnt the fact that the Kokanee brewery is there. :D

All of BC is beautiful. Perhaps I am a little biased because I miss the north so much.. [flag]

I'm a sap for the Laurentians north of Montreal. Any time of the year they are beautiful but especially in the fall.

The Sea to Sky highway in BC between Cache Creek and Pemberton is great, too.

Tough to narrow this down to just one place!

I love British Columbia! Especially Vancouver Island...go out at night on one of the small Islands and I swear you can see all the stars that exist, it's incredible. My favourite landmark in B.C/Alberta would be the Rockey mountains...everytime I travel through there my jaws just open.

Can't say the same about the streets of Vancouver, man what a dump that city is.

Streaker @ Thu Mar 31, 2005 11:13 am

Totally unfair, alien. Vancouver has a few bad blocks in the downtown Eastside, but otherwise the city is clean, safe and beautiful.

My backyard.

No way man, on my latest trek through that city on transfer to Alaska...I took a bus through there to the airport and I couldn't believe how dirty and decrepit the whole city looked! I was wondering where all your high taxes went. Definitely not to keep the roads in shape.

I have nothing against Vancouver, in fact I love some parts of it, such as Stanely park and such, but you know judging from my trips through there it seems the city is in a genuine decline.

You're telling a Montrealer that Vancouver's roads are bad?

As for your other comments, I'm a little puzzled. The whole downtown core and inner city is being redeveloped on a massive scale; not my idea of a city in "decline"... You must have noticed all the shiny new condo highrises that have been built over the past few years!

Canadaka @ Thu Mar 31, 2005 4:08 pm

Vancouver is one of the cleanest cities i have seen, only some Swiss and german cities I have seen are cleaner.

I would definatly nto say its in decline, it is getting better. specialy with the olympics coming up, the city will be cleaning up even more.

There is an old post somewhere in the forums with montages of Vancouver, comparing what it looked like 20 years ago to now.

Man....lived in Leaf Rapids for a little while...yup..fishing the Churchill...bombing around Turnbull lake on a seadoo.....If it wasn't so cold in the winter, and not so many flies in the summer! Still a nice spot.

Sask....Well...I drove through...that's about it! My brother went to somepace up by Saskatoon....said it was pretty cool...

I can't say I disagree.

Drive 20 minutes from Downtown Vancouver and you'll see beautiful forests, mountains, rivers...all unmolested and in their natural state.

Drive 4 hours from LA into Central California, the middle of nowhere, and you'll find trees, rocks, and port-a-johns that at some point, some dickhead decided should bear his name.

And by "port-a-john", I mean portable restrooms and outhouses, but also trees, rivers, bushes, and anywhere imaginable that one may handle their business.
