I'm coming home in exactly 37 days, 19 hours and 41 minutes for a visit after being away for about 3 1/2 years!!! That's how long it took to get my green card here in the US after I married my husband...and I wasn't allowed to leave the country until it came through. Whew...finally!
I can't wait!!! There are too many things that I love about Canada to mention...but one of the things that I'm looking forward to most is the quiet. Not to say it's quiet everywhere in Canada but compared to where I am now with the traffic, congestion and noise...I'm going to find an open field somewhere and just listen to the quiet!
Oh...and have a bubba...gotta have a bubba. :D

I myself am in the process of applying for Canadian citizenship .

I've heard that its actually easier to become a US citizen than a Canadian citizen. If that truly is the case, and all the bullshit I've had to go through this far just to get back into the US, all I can say is best of luck buford.

Buford, my friend,
never asked (axed!) you if you've ever been up here or not. But I'll say one thing, its HARD moving to another country for good. I don't know you're personal situation, but I know mine, and personally, I miss MI, and so do my wife & kids. It took a long time to get comfortable in Michigan for me, but I've NEVER been comfortable here in Ottawa, & I went to high-school here. Yeah, the streets look the same, the city has grown rapidly in the last twenty years or so, & I have a lot of great memories, but home is where the heart is, dude! And if my heart is somwhere else, I'd appreciate you NOT using me as an example with what is wrong with America. I only post opinions here, I didn't write the bible, or the declaration of independance. I just believe in it! Peace.

Uh , Absolut , would you kindly point out where I used you as an example of what is wrong with America ? As for where you wish to live and your beliefs , they are no concern of mine , and I can assure you they never will be . As for me , I'm quite confident that I would enjoy living in Canada and am presently pursuing the means to doing just that .

The dictionary I use is the New Merriam - Webster.

I prefer the Canadian Oxford myself, unless I'm typing in American...then I just drop all the u's and use whatever I can find on the 'net. :D
