$1:
By 2050 Quebec will be an independent nation landlocked by the fifty-nine states and three territories of the United States of North America.

The Stars & Stripes will have nine more stars on it and Canadians will be warmly welcomed by their fellow Americans.

The Quebecois will have caused the collapse of the Canadian union when they separated and divided Canada into a nation without common borders: Eastern Canada & Western Canada.

IMHO, you have badly underestimated Canadians' will not to be absorbed into the US. You may be right about Quebec separating, though.

$1:
Can we make that 2006

I nominated you for an "anti-canuck" medal on this basis, wanker. Congrats...

Oh and stop drinking that Liberal Koolaid.

Quebec won't seperate. The seperatists are slowly and ever more becoming the minority in Quebec.

FuBaR @ Wed Mar 23, 2005 7:00 pm

With all the minorities and anglaphones now living in Quebec, they'll never separate. The atlantic provinces have a better chance of separating, but then again when youre getting 100% of your oil revenues and free health care, why leave?

Northern Canada will see unprecetened growth Fort Mac will have over 300000 people and Yellowknife will have 250000 with the top railway system shipping goods and people too and from. Quebec is the first provine granted a protective State of Canada (sovernty asoccation anyone)
Alberta and BC soon follow merging with the territories, as does the rest of the Republic Of Canada as it is now called, all this new found wealth and prosperity makes Canada the world leader in Energy, Tecnology, and enviromental practices, with the highest gdp and second largest economy in the World.

Freaker Freaker:
I wish you were right Hockeyguy but I doubt the population will double by 2050! The reason is all the baby-boomers will be dying off soon and that will put a brake on future growth.

One thing that will happen is that our large cities will keep growing while rural areas get depopulated. I found some interesting stats while doing a recent paper for an urban studies course. Here is the predicted population of some major Canadian cities in 2060:

Toronto: 12million (presently around 5.1mil.)
Montreal: 5.4 mil. ( " " 3.6mil.)
Vancouver: 4.7 mil. ( " " 2.2mil.)
Ottawa: 2.7mil. ( " " 1.2mil.)
Calgary: 2.7mil. ( " " 1 mil.)
Edmonton: 2.6mil. ( " " 1 mil.)
Winnipeg: 1.4mil. ( " " .7 mil.)

The predicted figures all seem really high to me but they were produced by an expert on demographic trends.

Can I ask where you got the recent numbers? because they seem way off.
