Interview tomorrow at 0800!! Frig! Nervous...

Just say the folks at CKA say the CF needs more good MPs and add you like playing with handcuffs. Should make you a shoe in

Hope it goes well

Well, I just got back from my interview, and I passed. Now it gets passed on, and I get thrown into a pool. Hopefully I get selected. I didn't say that I liked playing with handcuffs. Not sure if that would have given me bonus points or not.

Does anyone know what the Military Police Assessment Centre (MPAC) is all about? They don't provide much details. All I know is that for a solid week you are "evaluated" on your ability to become a MP.

DeBoom @ Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:58 am

Its basically a week of scenarios and psych testing at CFB Borden. They look at how you respond to various challenges thrown at you, see if you work well in a team or are to quick to anger. That's about all I can remember from a briefing I got a couple years back from a MPO.

If you got any questions about basic training don't hesitate to send me a PM. I went through CFLRS just over a year ago.

MPAC is the Municpal Property Assessment Corporation. If you're going there, do me a favour and set fire to the fucking building on your way out.

Normally I would agree with you but this year I tore down the old death-trap barn and put up a new barn complete with electricity and plumbing and my property tax went down! 8O

So right now I kinda like them. Next year when they realise their mistake and jack my taxes through the roof, I'll lead the torch wielding mob myself. 8)

Can you fail at the MPAC? Just curious on how these scenarios carry out. Unless, of course, I set fire to the building.

I'm certain you can. With civilian Police services they give you testing and Ontario (I think) even has a simulator where you interact with virtual public. They have the polygraph (RCMP and Alberta) and psych etc etc etc. With them you can fail at one of those points.

Don't sweat if before you even get there though. No good if your blood pressure is already peaking when you walk into the testing room. Don't over think your answers or actions, they want to see how you normally react, not how you think they want you to. They watch people do this all the time and will know if someone is "acting" for them.

ginger @ Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:02 am

Well I am familiar with all of the civilian tests, and understand how failure is always imminent, it's just annoying how with the MPAC, it's a week-long test. Everyone needs to pick up and move, reschedule everything, and basically be under the microscope for a week with the full possibility of failure.

EyeBrock @ Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:34 pm

Take it easy Ginger. The tests might stress you out but they are just looking for the norm. If you are the 'norm' you are good to go. If not.....

ginger @ Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:05 pm

Well I hope I'm normal. Anyway, I should know by the end of the month whether or not I will get the opportunity to go to MPAC. In the meantime, I'm hitting the gym everyday. Don't mean to sound pathetic, but it is waaay too hot in Ottawa right now to be running outside, so gym it is.

The MPAC is October 20-26

ShepherdsDog @ Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:24 pm

I hear one of the crucial tests is that they place a plate of doughnuts in one room, and a suicidal hostage taker in another. You are then evaluated on how long it takes you to prioritize the situations, and then how fast you can choke down the doughnuts before dealing with the pussy with 'insecurity' issues.

I heard Eyebrock had trouble with this because he became confused when he discovered there was no coffe or tea to go with the doughnuts.

EyeBrock @ Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:29 pm

You are such a fish-head knob shep.

I way prefer curry to dodge-nuts.

Chicken Vindaloo please.

And a rather jolly 'bollocks to your head!'

ShepherdsDog @ Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:40 pm

You'd be in 7th heaven here then as they have curry filled pastries(a jam buster/bismark with a curry custard) here in Mister Donuts. PDT_Armataz_01_32
