You'd be in 7th heaven here then as they have curry filled pastries(a jam buster/bismark with a curry custard) here in Mister Donuts. PDT_Armataz_01_32

I do like the sound of that!

well, hopefully I can figure my way through these scenerios if I get to go to MPAC. Anxious to get started, yet it has only been a week since my interview. I need to learn to be patient.

has anyone been through the physical here? I'm at the gym every day to prepare, so hopefully all will go well. I would hate to get to basic training then be sent home because I was one push-up short of the standard!

Chumley @ Tue Sep 07, 2010 9:48 pm

Been a long time since I did the physical, but if you are hitting the gym every day you shouldn't have a problem.
The CF isn't expecting every person who walks in the door to be triatheletes.

Their fitness standard is, or at least was, something that a highschool student in decent shape could easily meet.

What does person need to join the police?

The minimum standard today is at a level that if you fail it you should be put down! It is pathetically low. :?

Haha!! Ok perfect. Yes it did seem low to me, that's why it actually concerned me. Being female, I am not the best at push-ups, but I can do them. The running and sit-ups seem pretty easy.

Still waiting. I don't think any of my references have been called yet. Wondering, should I give my recruiter a call? I was given the contact info of the Corporal in charge of my file. Should I get in contact with him to see what's going on? I was told in my interview that I would know by the end of the month if I get to go to MPAC. So I know we are not nearly there, but should I still get in touch with my recruiter, basically just to touch base?

Yes, Im quite serious about this, you need to bug the recruiters to get them moving. I had to do the same when I got it, I called ever second tuesday.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give him a call on Monday. Hopefully it will give me favourable contention. Although I still creep on to the recruiting chat room every once in a while and inquire as to whether the position of MP is still open, just so I have an understanding of the intensity of my competition. Turns out it is still open for the taking.

ginger @ Thu Sep 09, 2010 8:13 pm

Guy_Fawkes, what position were you hired for, if I may ask?

ginger @ Tue Sep 14, 2010 5:21 pm

Well, got a call today - with much angst, my references have all been called, and now my file has been sent for what I assume is final review, or as I was informed, the "merit list." Hopefully good news will come soon.
