Brass against the machine :D

I really like their rendition of wake up:

They also do killing in the name of, not quite AS good (IMHO) but still cool.

Those are pretty cool. That singer has almost the same intensity as Zach de la Rocha to boot.

From brass against the machine to lounge against the machine. The incomparable Richard Cheese:

I really enjoy covers when it's either jumps to a different genre, or it uses entirely different instruments. It turns it into less of a comparison and more of a compliment.
Such as this:
Original

metal cover

Or for different instruments:

And then there are just well done heartfelt ones.

One of my side bands is doing Hush, recently made big again by Kula Shaker. I thought, well I'll go listen to the original Deep Purple version. ONly it turns out it wasn't a Deep Purple song. American soul singer Billy Joe Royal (later to turn to country)wrote it in 1967. The original Hush. Actually worth a listen. This guy could sing.

In my books you're better than Jimmy Osmond and almost as good as Jimmy Carter, old buddy.

Got a boatload of family at ours. It's the only sane response.

Got that right. As much as I appreciate the help and would die for them there's still lots of times I wish I was living on my own again. Too much stress being around other people sometimes.

My sister-in-law--couldn't get a pin up that girl's ass with a jackhammer. "Oh menopause, I eat so well, and then I have a couple of glasses of wine on the weekend and it goes straight to my thighs." Complaining about her weight all night. Me: Well try snorting a few lines of coke. That should clear that up. Crickets.

Put some ground-up shrooms in her dinner just to see what happens. Lighten up some, hon.
