In the 70's, so as long as the story ends there... 8)
Same with the rolling stones, Beatles, both huge in there day. The Beatles are no more, the Rolling Stones no longer rock. Their halftime show sucked.

If longevity counts toward "greatest rock band ever," I think Aerosmith gets overlooked in this area a lot. I can't think of anybody else that has rocked as hard for as long as they have. They still put on a kick ass show, still all original members.

Metallica, Zepplin, ACDC, Aerosmith, BTO, Rush, Floyd, Disturbed, Radiohead

All I can think of right this second.

Yum yum prog rock.

Van Der Graaf Generator, Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Gentle Giant, Genesis, Porcupine Tree, Jethro Tull... I could go on and on.

I saw Gentle Giant in concert. Halfway through one song the drummer stood up, grabbed a guitar and did an incredible solo. That was an amazing band.

Frankie Valli & the four seasons

I have to say that there are some really nice choices out there. Therefore good posts.

As for now, I am pretty much listening to a variety of bands.

Tool has to be one of the best recent bands out there. :D

Also, Deep Purple was never mentioned, so I will include it in the classics. George Thorogood, CCR, The ''Nuge''.

As for some specific tunes, Rush ''Tom Sawyer'' is a classic.

Seether (at least some of their earlier works) Disclaimer & Disclaimer II.

Pantera with the unveiling of ''Vulgar Display of Power'', was one of the premier bands.

But I would have to say for my all-time favourite, Metallica has to rank right up there.

Definitely, they were awesome. They coQld pretty much pull off anythinC, and well at that.

If I ever hear anyone compare any band to GG, I'm going to slap him, hard. They simply can't be emulated

I'm a newcomer to this forum, and I've been reading some of the posts about anti-Americanism in Canada. In light of this, if I were to...say, relocate to Canada at some point in the future, would I encounter prejudice? I had honestly never thought of this as a potential issue if I moved.

I'm thinking about BC, possibly Vancouver Island. I currently live in Vermont.

Hey Welcome to the forum Boolea.

As far as the Anti-Americans comments on this forum, it's only from a few select people. Not everyone is like that around here. Not enough to be concerned about :D

Although, I must say, maybe you should have used the Introduction thread instead.

Hey, since you are here, please tell us your favourite band.

And oh !!!! A word of advice, don't go to BC. Brenda, PCC, Lily and TattoodGirl are over there. Enter at your own risk ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL
