Jeez, this ones tough. There is so much to choose from.
I basically am a fan of all kinds of music, as long as it's a good song I'll listen to it. Some of my Favorites are

Sublime- Santaria, and What I got, as well as Boss DJ
Metallica- For Whom the Bell Tolls, Sanatarium
Godsmack- especially their acoustic stuff
Wu Tang Clan
Lost Boys- Ghetto Love
Breaking Benjamins- So Cold (both versions)
and if I want a laugh Flight of the Concordes
The Beatles- Too many to list
Hinder- Get Stoned
Suicidal Tendencies- How Will I Laugh, Institutionalized
Ben Harper does a killer version of Sexuall Healing

My Gosh, I could go on and on and on.......

SprCForr SprCForr:
Pink Floyd.

Good choice--never figured you for a Floyd fan, myself though! Seemed like more of an AC/DC type.

Tool is awesome. Just heard their cover of No Quarter by Led Zeppelin last week--made the hairs on the back of neck stand up.

Boolea Boolea:
I'm a newcomer to this forum, and I've been reading some of the posts about anti-Americanism in Canada. In light of this, if I were to...say, relocate to Canada at some point in the future, would I encounter prejudice? I had honestly never thought of this as a potential issue if I moved.

I'm thinking about BC, possibly Vancouver Island. I currently live in Vermont.

Clever people can make difference between the views of American elites and the views of the Americans themselves. There is some primary anti-american racists in Canada, but you shouldn't pay attention to them, as you shouldn't pay attention to Americans who dislike Barrack Obama because of the colour of his skin.

My favorite groups ever are : Les Cowboy fringants, Harmonium, ACDC, The Beatles.

Wow, this is a tough one.
I'm an avid music fan and a musician myself.
I like a good song period.
Sublime is probably my favorite band.
I'm listening to the Gorillaz alot lately too.
And having grown up in the 80's I'm of course a Guns N Roses/Motley Crue victim.
For heavy I LOVE Pantera.

A lot of people have mentioned Pink Floyd on their lists. But an even BETTER band is Roger Waters solo band. Check out the "In the Flesh" DVD from the 1999-2000 tour. It features Doyle Bramhall, probably the world's best guitar player. This DVD is the "best band in the world on its best night". 'Dogs', with Jon Carin on acoustic, lead vocals and keyboard, and Bramhall on the Strat, is the best tune on the disc.
