I don't think I'm the first to call that argument lame.

It's true though.
Your argument sort of takes away from the whole "freedom of lifestyle and choice" though....

Not really, no. I thought sodomy was legal now?

hamm_y @ Sun Apr 03, 2005 10:40 pm

All right WarHawkster, you win. This is something my brothers taught me when I was very little, "let the baby have his bottle".

You supplied no support to your arguments, ignored the arguments that other people made that were different from your own without even trying to counter them, but yes, you still won. Congratulations, help yourself to some cake.

Yes I did! Are you familiar with our charter of rights and freedoms?

Which ones did I ignore?

Thanks!

I wasn't exactly referring to sodomy, and no, people are still being charged with it, but I'm pretty sure that if it is consentual then it is legal (if it isn't then it's rape and sodomy). However, I was talking about the right and freedom to be married to whom ever you choose, providing that it is consentual.

I'm just curious as to how Gay marriages hurt anyone?

What? They don't hurt anyone? You're kidding? So millions of christians/conservatives are making a huge fuss over this while the government clearly has more important things to do?? How silly.

RUEZ @ Sun Apr 03, 2005 10:47 pm

WarHuckster, Here's a tip, stating"Have you hear of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms" is not an answer to any argument on this thread.

WarHawker...

Sure, gays can marry whoever they like, so long as it isn't someone they're attracted to.

Can you prove attraction, or love for that matter, in a court of law?

$1:
Did it ever occur to you that you;re denying them the right to marry the person of their choice?

So according to this logic everyone should be able to marry anyone they wish, correct? So, would you approve of brothers and sisters marrying?

RUEZ @ Sun Apr 03, 2005 10:49 pm

Ah here we go, the old free for all argument. If you allow gay marriage, then you might as well allow marriage to animals and marriage to children and all sorts of deviant behaviour? Right Warhuckster? :?

What about siblings? Should they be allowed to marry aswell?

I thought it was the gays making all the fuss....

Yes, I am. But what part are you referring to, and how does it help to support what you're saying about homosexual marriages.

$1:

How many people have stated told you that homosexual marriage doesn't affect you in any way, shape or form... try addressing that.

$1:
Thanks!

Not a problem. You won't mind if I don't join you though, right? It's late and I need to go to school tomorrow...

Whatever floats your boat.

Yes, I am. But what part are you referring to, and how does it help to support what you're saying about homosexual marriages.

The point I was trying to make was that gays have the same rights as straights under the charter, and they cannot be discriminated against, or receive any differential treatment. There is none of this in not allowing gay marriage, because gays can marry the same way any other heterosexual can.

Higher taxes, since gays will receive more tax breaks.
