Keeping the agenda hidden

What's with these people? Is Harper a book-burning Nazi? Will they be sending poets to the Gulag next? Why are they so terrified of ideas?

$1:
A spokesperson for Ambrose said the speech was billed as coming from an Environment Canada scientist and even though his book is a work of fiction, he would appear to be speaking in an official capacity.

Tushingham was ordered to cancel the speech because he didn't follow the proper process, the spokesperson said. He also has cancelled some TV and radio interviews about the book.
Geez let's try to make something out of nothing. Damn you communists suck.

Does sound pretty tacky that Prof. Author would use his position to push his book. Whats next, bitching that banned porn has "artistic licence"?
Must be a slow news day for you reds.

Did anyone see Rona Ambrose on Rick Mercer? I think he's boning her....

But she is still not allowed to talk to him about lots of stuff.....He flat out asked her some questions and she said she's not allowed to talk about it....

Oh well, maybe she talks in her sleep.... [BF] [BF] [BF]

The man is a scientist with Environment Canada. There is nothing in the civil servants' handbook that requires him to keep that secret. There are no rules against civil servants writing books. The man did nothing wrong and had no reason to follow the proper process because that process does not apply.

It was the launch for his novel. He was not speaking on government policy. How could he? It's pretty clear that Harper doesn't have a policy, a plan, or a clue when it comes to the environment. Tushingham's credentials as a scientist do lend creedence to his book, just as Arthur C. Clarke's lent creedence to his.

This is Harper and Ambrose sending a message to the civil service that dissent will not be tolerated and they'd better toe the official line. What would they have done if it was whistle-blower releasing non-fiction book?

They probably would have liberated his ass in his sleep.

I did. She's an idiot.

$1:
Btw, minus the picture in the article, is it just me or is Ambrose hot?

She's kind of like that Mo Berg song..."She's Not Pretty, She Just Looks That Way."

Yup. So much for open, accountable government. It took the Liberals over a decade to develop this level of arrogance.

You equate writing a book about "banned porn" with writing a novel about global warming?

What the hell is wrong with you?
