I've got 2 school going kids in quebec. They do not have compulsory religious training in class. Like the article says, parents have a choice to register kids in religion class or morals(non christians). Its just one class...95 percent(the rest) of the education is in secular setting.

I think it says something about the weakness in Canadian's sense of identity that we would consider such an innocuous delcaration of our shared cultural values to be "racist." That's what I meant by "typical." It was a dig at a peculiar Canadian trait, not a partisan dig.

I like to see how many ways he can make it the fault of the Conservatives for whatever may be bothering him....And Avro of course has to come across as the know it all Liberal who could run this country singlehandedly.
Anyway, it's been an interesting read thus far. I think this town actually has the right to put in place whatever rules it wants. I know I could think of a few immigration requirements that might help out. I am far from not wanting immigrants. I just want them to be Canadian, not where they came from. If they don't agree, why did they come here in the first place?
