It is blatantly slanted----unless they are singing your song.

Precisely. The Canadian Press is way less biased than anything available in the States. It's not perfect of course, but no news source is.

And as for the people who think Fox News is a good source, I truly do pity you. You have to watch the American right's personal Ministry of Truth and all of their sycophantic, unscrupulous hosts blabber in order to feel like you've made the right political decisions. Fox News is a joke in journalism and everybody knows it.

The CBC is about as non-biased as news gets people, and that's anywhere in the world. Nonetheless, it didn't stop me from screaming bias during the election. It was like they wanted the Conservatives to win. But afterwards I realised that they were only telling the truth. People in Canada wanted Stephen Harper to be Prime Minister and they were just reporting on that.

Actually....if you reversed the words "Fox News" and "CBC" it would be positively correct.

So it's the CBC who is the sycophantic Ministry of Truth for the American right now is it? That makes (no) sense...

You're delusional pal. I bet you've never even lived in the US. I'm willing to bet the farm on it.

The foolishness of neo-conservatives just astounds me. I mean, I would respect you if you were old-school British-style conservatives, but you're just a bunch of wannabe American twats, and that makes you infinitely annoying, and most of all ignorant since the only idea you have of life in the States comes from television. I've got news for you that you won't here on Fox News... you're not American and life in the US is not the same as what you see on the O.C.

You know, I even have conservative leanings, because traditionally the conservatives truly cared about this country and our heritage. These days you're nothing but a bunch of Yank arse-lickers. And for that, you get no respect (and no votes) from real Canadians.

So where's the farm. How soon can I move in?

And I am an "old school British Conservative"

Thats two counts you had difficulty in fathoming.

Oh and whilst we are at it....leave the milkmaid at the farm.

Typical Liberal presumptuousness.

Hey when you armed with the cerebral equivalent of nuclear warheads, like I am, you don't need much ammo.

Hmmm, Freedom of Press rankings - Canada #18, US #56.

Co-incidence?

I'm not a member of the Liberal Party, and I'm barely a half-hearted supporter. I'm not a member of any party and probably never will be. I could easily vote for a Liberal, a New Democrat, or an old PROGRESSIVE Conservative. Of course, the latter is no longer possible since the PC sold out to win elections by merging with the Alliance to form the CPC.

So I guess we're both a little presumptuous. But you know I never knew presumptuousness was 'typical' among Liberals though. Interesting...

Wullu Wullu:
Give it a rest.

A balanced CBC panel discussion is someone from the left, someone from the far left and someone from the lunatic left.

Well, the usual At Issue panel on the National includes:

Chantal Hébert (a bilingual writer for the Toronto Star, left of centre editorials), Andrew Coyne (has been a columnist for the Globe and Mail, the National Post, and now for MacLean's... he believes in a strong federal government, more market-based economics, and a bigger role for Canada in the War on Terror), and Allan Gregg (a Tory strategist who was behind the attack ads against Chrétien's facial deformity)...

So yeah, that's a real table of lefties there...

Pimpbrewski @ Fri Jan 18, 2008 4:33 pm

There is certainly some kind of bias in the medias. Mostly to the left at the Federal level (as people would say).

Still that's nothing compared to the bias in the Quebec provincial media. Although, there, is not about Conservatives or Liberals. Instead more like Separatism vs Federalism. And trust me when I tell you that the good majority of the media is péquiste (pro separatism).

The Prime Minister and His Grand-Mere

I noticed this the other day on the CBC archives. Might just be me but I thought it was a pretty soft touch when you campare it to the big stink their making out of the Mulroney affair. They don't even mention the firing of François Beaudoin or smear campain that was waged against him.
