And.... Francois Legault decides not run for the leadership. Claiming being the leader of a that party too tough (I was gonna make derogatory remarks regarding the matter, but opted out since I did not want to stoop to that level) Although, it is worth a mention.

At first, since I was watching the news, I thought they said that he was quitting. It's only the fact that he will not run for the leadership. Family matters, maybe yes, but sure there are other factors into his decision. Hiding something ? He did not give any political reasons for staying out of the race. :?:

What is going on with the PQ? They cannot even keep order within their own party. And that is the political party that will lead Quebec to sovereignty [huh] There is something going on within the ranks of the PQ.

I have been wanting to mention this for a while.

With the departure of Landry & Legault, it leaves Pauline Marois in the running for the PQ leadership. I want to quote something that maybe not everyone is aware about her. Although, it is not all that recent, it is still worth a mention.

$1:
She was stung with barbs about lavish spending on office renovations when she was health minister in 1999. That year, she ignited a furor when she spent $800,000 in public funds on new offices in Montreal and Quebec City - including the addition of a silent-flush toilet. She spent another $90,000 on a new office in Longueuil the following year.

The criticism comes from the fact that the PQ complains over the abuse of Federal funds being mispent. In fact, it's basically their only argument. The PQ is no better (and you did not hear the Federal complaining about that :D ). You see...... reasons of distrust over the PQ.

I've said it many times, all the "corruption" complaints against the liberals are endemic to ALL political parties. A sad but true fact of life in politics. Thanks for showing the hippocracy of the PQ. PDT_Armataz_01_37

André Boisclair joined the race.
A young (39 years old) and former minister of the PQ, he just got his MBA from Harvard.

I think Marois has no chance now (phew!).

One "bad" thing about Boisclair is that he is openly gay. I'm not homophobe at all but a lot of people are.
If we ever separate in the next governement, we will be laugh at a lot by the right-wing people:
"Quebec separates with a gay leader as the new prime minister of the Republic of Quebec"
