Obviously this is an effort to drive Liberal voters to either the greens or the NDP.

It doesn't take a genius to see through it...but its so obvious that the only people in might work on are those living mostly in trailer parks, and they're mostly voting Conservative.

REPUBLICANS FOR IGNATIEFF PRAISES MICHAEL IGNATIEFF FOR COURAGEOUS STANDS ON TARGETED ASSASSINATION & COERCIVE INTERROGATION
In a landmark television interview, Ignatieff repeatedly embraces fellow Americans as "we"
"We might even have to engage in certain forms of targeted assassination"
Says subjecting terror suspects to stress, sleep deprivation and disorientation stays clear of torture

JULY 14, 2009 --At a time when the counter-terrorism policies and practices of the Bush Administration are under attack in Washington, Republicans for Ignatieff praises Michael Ignatieff for his courageous stands on targeted assassination and coercive interrogation.

In a landmark interview with veteran television interviewer Charlie Rose, Ignatieff calls on America to chart a path to make some hard choices:

"I am not sure we can keep to a pure civil libertarian position all the way. For example, we might have to engage in the preventive detention of suspects on lower standards than we use in a criminal case. We might even have to engage in certain forms of targeted assassination of terrorist enemies. These are evils in the sense that people get killed or people get hurt. We don't keep to the fullest standards
of due process but they avoid greater evils."

Ignatieff, who later rationalized the "waterboarding" of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, used his interview with Rose to explain the difference between coercive interrogation and torture:

"I think you can draw a relatively clear line between interrogations that subject a terror suspect to a certain kind of stress, certain kind of sleep deprivation, certain disorientation and you can keep that clear of torture."

The new Liberal leader, talking in the first person about America, explained the unrealistic expectations that America both faces - and sets for itself - on the world stage:

"I think almost the nemesis of American power is that we are deeply hated and simultaneously supposed to have magical powers. Magical powers to do harm in the world, magical powers to do good. I mean the assumption is that the minute we take over a piece of real estate like Iraq the lights go on, the water works, you know forty years of institutional neglect okay presto its gone because we're America because we're here."

Canadians have never had a prospective Prime Minister speak so forcefully and honestly about the hard truths people the world over need to hear. We look forward to the day when Canada will employ more aggressive tools in war on terror and Islamic Fascism. Ignatieff's words on targeted assassinations and coercive interrogation are further proof that he is the right choice for Canada, the right choice for America and the right choice for Republicans.

That site is a political troll site, to anyone but a partisan hack.
They are using a proxy registration to hide their identity. I have no problem with this normally as I use domainsforproxy myself. For political advocacy groups, I smell a rotting turd.
Nice attempt (well not really)

Harper is the lesser of evils I will never vote Ignatieff or Liberals unless they get a real Liberal/Libertarian, I'll probably vote independent.

Liberal/Libertarian.

What?

kenmore @ Sun Jul 19, 2009 8:17 am

Its totally tory propaganda. I don't think any other party has stooped as low as these twits. harper and his puppets are nasty crooks who would go to any length to try and hold on to power. Even if it means lying and cheating and making crap up.

Terence @ Sun Jul 19, 2009 8:20 am

I would bet anything that it is a Tory activist created/written site.

kenmore @ Sun Jul 19, 2009 8:29 am

Right you are.. same tory bullshit, different venue.. cheaper than spending taxpayers dollars on attack ads.

Waaa..

I did get a chuckle at this counterattack:

If Liberal automations have trouble understanding why it's funny for Canada's leader to be painted as Chairman Mao, please ask and I'll explain it. You might think it to be the highest of compliments but really, it's an insult.

ridenrain @ Sun Jul 19, 2009 12:12 pm

I'm sure the Liberals would love to find the owners so they could throw a libel chill on it like all the other pro-Conservative sites.

DerbyX @ Sun Jul 19, 2009 12:21 pm

Like Harper did over the Liberals exposing his bribe attempt to Chuck Cadman?

ridenrain @ Sun Jul 19, 2009 12:36 pm

prove that.
The Libs were so poor they had to rely on the CBC to do their dirty work.

This is more like how they shut down the Youth for Volpe site.

Yesterday, a Joe Volpe parody site went up called YouthForVolpe.ca which lampooned the Liberal leadership candidate’s drug money (ahem pharmaceutical donations) from children of Apotex execs. When Volpe gave back the money yesterday (CTV News called it “Volpe’s volte-face”), the website went down. At the time, I thought that the designers had thought that it was irrelevant or that it had served its purpose, so they pulled it. It turns out that this is not the case.

Joe Volpe had the Canadian Internet Registration Authority sever the link from YouthForVolpe.ca to the server which hosted the website.

Volpe was another candidate for yor party leadership, yet you can't say anything bad about him. You can't say anything bad about any Liberal leader can you?

Prove what? That Harper filed a libel suit against the Liberals? [huh] YOu and I made a bet on the outcome of it.

As for anything to do with Joe Volpe, I've never said anything about him at all. That is nothing more then a red herring. You claimed that the Liberals were in the business of launching libel suits to silence dissent against them. I mearly pointed out that Harper did just that against the Libs.

Its quite clear you cannot have a rational debate over this because every criticism of your precious CPC is simply met with red herring scathing attacks on the Libs.
