Are you denying we would have troops on the ground in Iraq today if Harper had been pm?

Is that a dodge?

Harper has been licking boots since his career began and for the good of Canada I wish he had remained in some corporate basement counting beans. The volumes of data recounting his love affair with George Bush are there for anyone who wishes to take a second to find them.

If you are so sure give me some examples. So far you've done nothing but bitch and moan with nothing to back it up. Pretty typical of the people that complain about Harper.

When are the references to Harper being Obama's bum buddy going to start?

There is real no difference between them. They would not put us back on sound money or get ride of the income tax. Just the same old, same old. At least Harper created the a no tax savings account and cut the GST. Which is a small step in the right direction.

djakeydd @ Wed Jan 07, 2009 6:10 am

Correct grasshopper, there is really no diff whatsoever between a lib and a con, nor any between a dem and a gop. They get trotted out every so often to bolster some illusion that we have a say in how our countries are run. I just find the refoooorrmmm party rather hard to swallow and would like to see a traditional canadian party supposedly running the show. 8)

Well, I would challenge anyone living elsewhere than mommies basement to get by on ei these days. I think it maxes out at around 210 per week. And if you dont find work after about 48 you get to live on the street.

Complete and total bullshit, best do some homework before you comment on something you know nothing about.

more left wing conspiracy lunacy, I just can't wait until Obama is in office then what? you are going to call harper a pawn of the evil US left now?

not at all, on the contrary. I merely point this out as many "liberals" have always enjoyed bashing the US, and it's politicians. I think it is a true bought of irony that the new liberal leader is an American.

Have you noticed how 'quiet' everyone is about that? Can u imagine the noise they would be making if a conservative leader was an American?

Look at the fuss over Dion being a French citizen..

So I find it highly hypocritical for the left, and the liberals in particular to be so quiet now.

Given how enamoured Canadians are with Barack Obama I don't think too many will take exception to a Liberal leader with similar pedigree, both are authors and Harvard Alums.

scary if you're a bleeding heart Liberal living in Toronto.

No bleeding heart here, I give to the Red Cross...or whatever they're called now, Canadian Blood Services I think.

I don't think there's anything "bleeding heart" about treating homosexuals as full citizens with equal protections under the law. I'm no fan of abortion (who is?) but I don't want to see the state stepping in and telling a woman what she can and can't do with her body. I like our "universal, collectivized, health-care system" and I don't feel threatened by multiculturalism, I think immigration enhances our country.

Suffice to say, I don't agree with Harper on a lot of things.

You're just hoping the Conservatives bring up some of those issues. Not going to happen so quit Harpingon them. :P

I know Harper is too smart a politician for that.

What do you mean by "most"? If you're talking per capita I don't know. If you're talking about the most in terms of simple numbers, I'd have to guess Ontario as it has the biggest population. Procedures that aren't covered are offered by private facilities in all provinces, and Ontario has something like 40% of Canada's population.
