Should Canada help Lebanon clean coastal oil slick?
Calgary123 Calgary123:
Israel should be sent the bill for this one. They caused it... they should clean it up. After all... it was Hezbollah they were after... not the Lebanese people who will suffer as a result of this.
On September 9, 2005 the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office noted the completion of five years of the Palestinian infitada. During this period of warfare, 26,159 attacks were perpetrated against Israeli targets, in which 1,060 Israelis were killed and 6,089 were wounded. The statistics average out to 5, 232 attacks per year, or 14.33 attacks a day - for five years!
The people of Israel have payed thier dues for being the first line of defence in the global war with you Islamofascists.
Scape Scape:
It was Canadian firefighters that turned a job that could have been months or even years down to a few weeks.
For the record Scape, these Alberta companies lead by Safety Boss spent 9 months dousing fires that whould have taken several years. They used a technology that was developed to fight a particularily bad well fire in Alberta in 1983.
Also for the record, these companies from Alberta do not specialise, have the equipment nor the expertise for maritime oil recovery and control.
It is not Canada's job to clean up the mess of the islamofascists. If you muslims want it done, take up a collection at the local mosque and pay for it yourselves. Or maybe the 50,000 so called 'canadians' living in beruit should pick up the tab. Stop taxing me for your political whims.

According to mainstream reporting, Hezbollah is leading the way in terms of rebuilding and providing aid to those with homes now destroyed, and in need of food/supplies.
Good.

So war is completely useless now eh?

Not sure I'm following you here... but if indeed Israel's intentions as communicated were true (the eradication of Hezbollah) then why should the people of Lebanon suffer as a result of their actions? Should they not step up to the plate and try and save some face here? One would think that if they truly wanted peace with the Lebanese people, they would step up to the plate and show some good faith... after displacing thousands of people and destroying so much. It's bad enough that they have killed so many people, and embarrased themselves in front of the world... creating more PO'd Arabs that are now thirsting for revenge.
Here is an opportunity for them to make things right, and attempt prove that their intentions were honerable in the first place... even if they weren't which is clearly the case.
I agree Canadian fire fighters did a great job in Kuwait, I had 3 cousins over there. But Canada didn’t send them, Mr. Miller with Safety Boss got on the phone and was hired by the Kuwait government.
As far as cleaning up a oil slick, it ain’t rocket science . They need pumps, tank trucks , steamers and floating containment booms. And lots of absorbent material, straw and basically diapers to hand wipe rocks. And lots of people willing to wade and walk in that shit all day dressed in rain suits in that heat . Not what I call specialty equipment. We got to remember it’s a region of oil producing countries . I say let their Arab brothers help them on this one.
IceOwl IceOwl:
Surely, it wouldn't be the result of more partisan hackery and mouth-breathing one-track-minded grudge holding.
Of course not, if it was then obviously you would have wrote it.
Those are merely the facts. Your islamofascist brethren attack Israel multiple times a day. If Canadians had to put up with your terrorist garbage to that extent we would build some nukes and turn your Muslim paradise into a sheet of glass.
By the way IceOwl, you must have been disappointed when the 17 islamofascists where caught in Toronto and were not able to carry out their plans. I hear the lieberal Toronto police chief is proud and boasts how he managed to go the entire press conference without referring to the Muslims as "Muslims". I am impressed to the extent your type has managed to push things. Oh well, keep the faith and I am confident you'll get lucky soon.
Allahu Akbar.

It's an oil slick, not a jihad. Much like a patent going into ER the longer we sit around pointing fingers the cost and the damage will get worse. I would hope that other countries in that region have the good sense to clean up the mess on their own. If they do not and we stand idle then we have then made the world just that much more of a darker place. There is no excuse for that.

Nope, let them clean up the mess. Maybe Hezbollah can do something constructive with their time off.

You are a fool, they are giving $$$ away to win hearts and minds. Where do you think the money is coming from ?
IRAN, you dolt.

The FLIP side. AmeriKa has been giving the same resourses to Isreal for generations and why? Is it for their protection or for constantly stirring up shit in the near east, home of the Arabic Muslims? I know, I know Iran - bad, Amerika - Good! Right?
IceOwl IceOwl:
You might want to take a look at the ideals of the person who started the idea of Islamism, Sayyed Qutb.. you'll find yourself in the difficult position of having agreed with him.
I'm well versed with Sayyed know thy enemy) and the only thing the two of us have in common is our love of Jazz and the fact we both think the Palestinians are largely responsible for their problems.
Interesting you would pick an islamofascist who didn't support the Palestinians to support your argument. Sayyed is a footnote to wahhabiism. Why is that IceOwl?
IceOwl IceOwl:
Why is that, you might ask? Well, because another guy, Leo Strauss, happened to have the same kind of ideals, which neo-coservatives quickly adopted and convinced people like you that they were somehow different from that of the people they want to destroy.
Strauss is most notable for promoting an esoteric writing style in the subject of philosophy in order to avoid religious persecution. Kinda the opposite of Sayyed. Its truly amazing to witness your deductive conclusions.
Liberal relativism has its roots in the natural right tradition of tolerance or in the notion that everyone has a natural right to the pursuit of happiness as he understands happiness; but in itself it is a seminary of intolerance. - Leo Strauss.
IceOwl IceOwl:
You haven't been paying attention. Here, let me make a stupid neralization, but this one will be accurate:
As opposed to the majority of your stupid generalisations that are inaccurate?
IceOwl IceOwl:
if they had been successful, you would have been cheering that we might finally be removing our civil liberties
Me? I won't even show identification to fly because I refuse to produce a "passport" to travel in my own country. What a stupid lieberal argument. The cons are using the muslims to take away our rights so we must support the islamofascists. Yeesh.
IceOwl IceOwl:
and uselessly sending our soldiers off to die in a war,
I have been to two countries to ostensibly fight on behalf of the muzzies, have lost two comrades in Afghanistan and my best friend from basic just returned without his hearing and light shrapnel wounds. He would go back in a second as would I while cowards like you hide behind your burkas.
For every soldier who dies in Afghanistan maybe 100 Canadian civilians are saved by preventing a rogue state from sponsoring terrorism. BTW, that is what soldiers do best, protect Canadian civilians. You're a tough guy, why don't you go find a soldier returning from Afghanistan and tell him his efforts and the deaths of his buddies are useless and see what he does?
IceOwl IceOwl:
for every finger we point at Muslims, there are three pointing back at us, and for every so-called terrorist leader killed, ten more replace them.
You're right by golly, islamofascists are numerous and not going away. But while you decide to give in and convert, at least there are some real Canadians out there not so quick to sell the farm. In spite of your beliefs, Canadians will fight to preserve their State.
IceOwl IceOwl:
But you wouldn't dare think of the fact that you had just cheered for the deaths of all of the people who would have died as a result of their work.
I think I've pretty much blown your islamic BS out of the water.
IceOwl IceOwl:
Peace be upon everyone.
Of course you islamofascists would say that when you hear the rallying cry Allahu Akbar. You also say Islam is a religion of peace and love blah blah. The modern and historical evidence is overwhelmingly contrary.
Prove me wrong.

So helping those that have returned to a pile of rubble, that once was a home is bad??
The BASTARDS!! How dare Hezbollah and Iran (according to you) try and help those that were innocent victims of an invasion and try and "win their hearts and minds"... those EVIL Islamofacists!!
For my own amusement though... Try and explain to me how this is bad. Last time I checked, helping those in need was a good thing.
