this is why klein, the conservatives and anybody else who thinks we need deeper economic intergration with the states is are idiots. When klein said alberta needs more intergration, a secretary of the treasury said he expects a us dollar crisis within the next five years if they don't fix they're fiscal position. wanna now how you cause a recession, just reduce the amount of money in the market, then aggregate demand goes down and there you have it, a recession.

psst, just don't tell the right wing media or they'll place the blame on canada, or that evil liberal media

Godz, the far right, including Ralph Klein and Li'l Stevie Harper have been bitching for us to either peg our currency to greenback or outright adopt it for years now.

To think that's changed is silly. They, like you, want to be Americans. Take them with you when you go. This country doesn't need any more traitors.

Wow… an economist tycoon in the ruff…

There is a great difference between a self imposed recession to control inflation, production surplus, and other long list of local economical ills that has to do with creating a competitive edge in an international market.

However, reducing the amount of money in the market through hiking the interest rate are well known economical procedures that only meant to control inflation rate, as for reducing the aggregated demands in the market, it is used only when the production plus reach the end of its life cycles; therefore, when there is no demands due to out of hand political situation such “War” as an example, and even though the production shift here from the civil field to the military field will fill the gap at the end, or as an act of G_D (MAD COW), or other influentials that impose such measures as reducing the aggregated demands in the market is the international competition due to price only because when it comes to quality, Canadian products are always considered to be competing products.

Political hallucination is the latest human epidemic, some have an agenda, though.

Harper used to work for a right wing think tank that put forth the idea of adopting the US dollar time and again. Klein has supported those think tanks and the policies that come out of them for as long as he's been around.

Look into the Fraser Institute, CD Howe, and other propaganda mills for the neo-con nutbags, Godz.

I have written to Klein co. many times asking for cost benefit analysis studies showing that p3's have cost or will cost less than 100% public owned endeavours. All I received by way of reply were statements saying that :
1)p3's will save money,
2)the government will continue to do what makes the best sense.
No data was forthcoming from Klein co. to back up their statements.

Two p3's in Calgary were recently taken away from the private contractors because they were way over the budget for the total job cost and still not substantially done the jobs( the hospital and the courthouse projects). The Klein co. said the government would finish the construction and hire these same contractors to manage the facilities.

Recently, Klein has said that even if p3 health care costs more than 100 % public health care, Alberta should still go ahead with the p3 version.

This helps explain how Alberta went into debt and had to cut infrastructure maintenance programs as well as social, education and myriad other people programs at the same time that it accumulated a massive investment fund for a rainy day.

Klein is a yahoo. The deal he swung with US oil companies is less than what Norway gets and less than Alberta used to get under Lougheed.

Ive lived in Alberta most of my life and I can tell you that Alberta is the most pro-American province in Canada. I recently moved to Sask, and while some things here are not as good as Alberta, I feel more Canadian here then ever. I hear rumblings of anti-Easterners there all the time and while I can say I have no love for Easterners, I believe in a united Canada and not western seperatism or any crap like that, thats for pussys like Quebec.

Another Stupid thing about Ralph Klien is that he is so narrow minded!
Did you hear about the time when he decided to drop by a homeless shelter and give everybody a piece of his mind?

He started yelling at the poor people saying that they should go get a job! What is up with that! Unlike some people (Ralph) we dont have 20 000 to get a good education. We came a from a poor family and we might not be able to go to university of colledge!

Man! Who are these people who vote for Ralph?

ChrissyP @ Mon Dec 20, 2004 11:15 pm

There's a good reason why I didn't vote for Klein, I can't stand him! Ah well next time I'm hoping to vote for DH if he can get the time to run...

ChrissyP @ Mon Dec 20, 2004 11:20 pm

This time round I voted for my Aunt. More of a protest vote though. She got over 200 votes total.

Stellar @ Tue Dec 21, 2004 12:23 am

Oh cool.

So your aunt was independent.

Thats interesting, what was her purpose, where did she stand? Was she like the NDP or the Green Party?
Please explain.

ChrissyP @ Tue Dec 21, 2004 11:27 am

No she ran for the Social Credit Party. I don't really like them but the party I wanted to get my vote didn't run in my riding. Next time around my DH is hoping to run for the Green Party. They are more my speed as well so there goes my vote. I can't stand consevatives can't stand the Liberals, I wasn't impressed with the NDP's mudslinging up here, The Alliance party didn't seem to know what the heck was going on so why not vote for dear old Aunti.
