lol good luck, I havn't even started going down that road, nanite costs so much. I just built a new solar plant and it was 560metal and 224crystal!
Getting to the research lvl to even build nanite costs a lot, than the nanite itself is a million of each resource i think.
You have a point. I'll try to build my mine first.
Courrtey of DJNolan Proc...way too strong for me to attack.

Yah the gauss cannon are very strong.
My probes keep going MIA.
How do I harvest a DF? I have 1 recylcer but the harvest option never comes up. I even tried attacking with a probe then harvesting and nothing comes up. When I send the ship manually it comes back empty.
Just started yesterday. Thanks to whomever sent stuff. Are you all in universe 14?
Feel free to pass along any spare resources. 1:29:11 Mother Earth

Find the debris field you want and go to the Fleet directory. Select Recycler(s) and then enter your coordinates and make sure you click "Debris Field" not planet in the destination screen. It will automatically offer you a "Harvest" mission. Select it and send them on their way.
The biggest problem with harvesting is that senior players have recyclers that go a hell of a lot faster than yours, so by the time yours get there, it's all gone. That's happened to me several times. I only try harvesting in my own galaxy now...
Yeah I tried to harvest three time and it came back empty.
And they are VERY slow.
Battleships are coming in few hours !!! Viva Hyperspace drive lvl4 !
I got my first battleship this evening too. Finally, Ill be able to take a piece out of my neighbour (the jerk at 208:11). In a couple of days, Im going to hit him, hopefully with 6-8 battleships and supporting vessels.

Let me know, and we can coordinate.
I'm looking to do a one for one trade (1 LG Cargo, maybe 2) for Crystal. I have a ton of Duet to get rid of.
ok I'm in. I'm kinda confused by some of the stuff. I get the whole build and research thing. it's the fleets and neighbours i don't know about. should I be worried of an attacking force?

You don't really need to worry about getting attacked until you have more then 5000 points (points can be seen at the bottom of the overview screen). Until you get 5000 points you are under what is called 'noob protection', this means that only people that are equal to your level/points will be able to attack you. So obviously since you just started out there won't be many people around your level so you don't have much to worry about. In the galaxy view you can see this because most peoples names will be 'red' to you. People that can attack you will have white names, and people that are inactive will have grey names, people that are under noob protection compared to you will be green (you won't see any green yet). Blue names are people set to vacation and cannot be attacked.
So start building up your mines, do the research to get small cargos and probes, and start probing and raiding 'grey' inactive players for extra resources.
Good luck, and once you join the alliance I'll send you some resources if I remember
ok thanks. so probing and raiding is a good thing then, ill try it out when i get ships

That's not entirely true, Camerontech. You can be attacked but only by other n00bs who are within your strength range x4 (therefore, if you have 500, you can be attacked by someone with up to 2000 points). I know that because I was attacked by another n00b. When you are able, build defences as you can afford them. Rocket launchers are okay as cannon fodder but against anything but cargo ships, they'll lose. Light Lasers are much better, if you can afford them.
Bascially, your goal should be build mines and produce as much as possible, then to research the tech necessary for espy probes and small cargo ships. Anything else like heavy defences and so on can wait. A good range in the beginning is to have metal mines a couple levels ahead of crystal and Dueterium, as you need lots of metal. Once you have probes and small cargo ships, start probing the 4 week inactives (designated by
i l). If they have zero defences, send your cargo ship(s) to attack them. They'll fly in, load up and return to your planet. Then invest that in more ships and probes and repeat. Once you have a few cargo ships, start researching everything else and aim for battleships (the workhorse of most battlefleets).
Once you have battleships (it took me about 3 weeks), then you can hit regular planets. I found cruisers and fighters just don't pack enough punch to hit defended planets.
I try to raid up to three times a day if I can; once first thing in the morning, once again in the afternoon and then a long term raid over night while I sleep (thus doing a fleet save). If you have time, then you can bring in tons of resources. Otherwise, just raid when you can and fleet save when you aren't at your PC.
