I have 4 battleships and about 40 light fighters, as well as 60 probes right now. I'm building 10 fighters and 10 probes for every battleship so that when I attack they get killed first and my battleships do massive damage to him. I'm hoping to have 10 battleships and about 10 times that of probes and fighters when I hit him.
I've got 5 battleships and a shitload of cruisers, h. fighters, l. fighters, and more on the way so I think he's going down :twisted:

well my boys got home safe and the plane they were going to disapeared.

I'm going to have to debrief the crews to find out what happened.

Just kidding, I know you can't do that. But somehow they traveled two hours distance in 3 minutes back home.


That happens sometimes when inactive planets disappear. Your fleet disappears momentarily and returns empty. It worried me the first time it happened to me too.

I'm just timing it so that I hit him just before I come out of n00b protection (sitting at 4200 today). I'm also going to send my recyclers to his debris field when I launch the attack so I can scoop up as much debris as possible.

Can you give a brief breakdown of how you coordinate the ratios of various units? I know how to use the simulators, but not sure as to how to make the most efficient use of each unit type.

Rapid fire

You can check rapid fire in the special properties of ships in the Technology or Shipyard menus. If a ship has rapid fire, it will be followed by a kind of ship and a number. The number represents, in average, the amount of units of that type the ship can shoot against in one round. It is a bit messy to understand, so the better way to do so is with an example.

Cruisers have rapid fire 10 against missile launchers. We launch a cruiser against a defense of 2 missile launchers and 1 small laser. Each defensive building will shoot once against the cruiser, as it is the only attacker. When it's the cruiser's turn it chooses a target randomly from the three available targets. Let's suppose it chooses one of the missile launchers. The cruiser shoots as normal but then, since it has rapid fire, it gets a dice roll to decide if it has another chance to shoot. Let's suppose the roll is successful, and it gets an extra shot (and can now only fire at nine other missile-launchers). Then it randomly chooses another target. Let's suppose this time it chooses the small laser. He'll shoot, but since it has no rapid fire against it, doesn't get a rapid fire roll, and the round ends here. Had it chosen the missile launcher it would have been granted the chance to roll dice again for an extra shot.


That means cruisers could theoretically get more than one shot, while battelships only get one, meaning that a squadron of cruisers are important for taking out the weaker defences. With the large number of Light Lasers, Cruisers could be very effective in the battle at his main planet. His colony @ 208:13 can be attacked by anything because his defence is very weak.

I think you mean rocket launchers, instead of light lasers. Cruisers don't have RF against light lasers.

He must be pissed because of your attack Proc...he's firing interplanetary missiles at me now!

I'm going in for sure tomorrow about noon MST. I'll post on here first thing in the morning and let everyone know when my fleet will arrive.

bootlegga, my fleet's going to take a lot longer than yours, so we should plan ahead so I can send my fleet earlier... either that, or my attack will be about an hour after yours, which is fine, I guess.
