I find my self in a bit of a bind. I have a computer that has decided to act up. When I turn on the computer there is no video, and a series of beeps. I've tried to reset the RTC CMOS. That didn't work so is it a problem with the moboard or the Vid card. The Board is a ASUS A8R32-MVP delux, and the video card is a ATi Radeo X1600Pro I'm ready to rip my hair out. The problem may was caused by a static electricity surge from me, I cant find anything that would sugest any burnt spots. I just don't know

First I’d help you but you’ve always been a shit to me, second how the fuck are you posting with a dead computer, you’re better then most if you can.

You've probably fried the vid card, or the port it's connected to. If it's standard pci i'd throw it into another slot. If it's AGP you might be hooped. First things first I'd find another video card to test it out.

Well firstly, I would love to take the credit for being able to post with my mind, but that is just well a little crazy. I'm useing the wife's labtop. Secondly I haven't always been shit to you. I have just taken some exception to your unique way of attempting to win arguements. You have the gift of being able to get under peoples skin, even mine from time to time.

If your monitor doesn't say "No Video" or something like it, showing just a lit blank screen, I would be inclined to say that your motherboard was fried..

Its running on a PCI E 16 slot and it won't work in the other PCI E slot

Ya, I'd try and get my hands on another vid card before investing in a new mobo. There's a good chance it's just a fried video card. My experience with bad motherboards is that they just die, no video, no nothing.

Kerozine @ Sun Dec 21, 2008 12:12 am

Yep, possibly a fried video card. If possible, try testing the video card on another PC to be certain.

Thanks guys I'm stabing in the dark here. A new Moboard is too much for me right now. Thanks.

Assuming it is not a new card the slot could be toast. Have you tried without the card and use the onboard or does your motherboard support video?

Try removing or changing the ram stick
Try switching the processor for another to try if that works
Get your hands on another vid card and try that and see if it works

It's not your mobo. When a mobo dies you get no power @ all.

Not its not a new card but I don't do any gaming on the computer, well not anymore. The motherboard has no on board video so I can't cheak it that way. I cirtainly hope that the slot isn't fried as well.

This was my first thought about the mobo, but I'm sure that if the PCI Express slot was fried then I would have no video from that as well. The computer does the same thing when I put the video card in the other PCI E slot. See the computer has a Crossfire Ready mother board so it comes with 2 PCI E slots that are linked on the board.
