But 3 out of 3 'troublemakers' having the same boots as the Surete? Why not the obligatory Doc Martens?
Only one does.
I wear Doc Martens. I'm wearing a pair right now.
And guess who got me started on wearing them?
A skinhead?
Nope.
A neo-Nazi?
Nope.
A punk-rocker?
Nope.
I own the same model shoes that
Sir Paul McCartney wears.
They're dang comfy, too!
The best 200 hundred bucks I ever spent, they last for years in all climates.... well about 3 years anyways.
But,
Lets say Caleb is right, what's the benifit of doing something like this for the cops ? Second of all what
commanding officier would condone this sort of thing? Instead of doing something like I dont know posing as a protester ..... with a camera and just filming everything hoping to catch the real hooligans on film for prosperity reasons, wouldn't that seem more beneficial or does Caleb think Quebec cops are that dumb who are looking for a reason to fire tear gas.

However, all two guys are wearing fatigues, and those along with the boots can be bought at a military surplus store.
Ah, so the protesters went and bought military gear so that when they got busted it would look like the military/SQ/RCMP had planted a plant.
Ya know, I once ate a bunch of mescaline in Regina and woke up in a field outside of Tisdale with a girl from Southey on top of me, but not once did I come up as anything as sketchy as that.
I quit taking drugs long ago, mostly because I found reality was much more twisted, but I might have to start up again.

Did I say that? No. Way to jump to conclusions.

I agree about the professonal protesters. They need to grab the headlines so push their cause, and the shortest way to that is violence.
I do find it funny that this year most of the pepper is being kept on the steak, rather than the protesters.
I agree too, but there is a method to the madness.
Without the clashes, there is no news coverage. There has been a severe lack of coverage about the SPP in recent years, and it's the clashes with police that have garnered the spotlight. There have been protests across the country in the last few days, but only the violent one gets the press - which I think is part of the point.
The courts have ruled that the protesters have the right to be seen and heard, so at the summit has cameras and sound piped in to the lobby - but who is to say the monitors and sound are actually on?
The method to the madness is madness.
What the protesters don't get is that the violence turns people off
even before they understand what the issue is about.
People don't like violence and recoil at it. They think those instigating the violence are thugs, and their cause is thought of negatively because of guilt by association.
These dumbasses are the best thing that could happen to anyone supporting the SPP.
SQ admits it
$1:
Quebec provincial police admitted Thursday that their officers disguised themselves as demonstrators during the protests at the North American leaders summit in Montebello, Que.
The police came under fire Wednesday when protesters accused the force of planting undercover officers in the demonstration to provoke violence. A video surfaced on YouTube that appeared to depict disguised police in the crowd.
The provincial police, in a news release, said its officers went undercover to identify and stop non-peaceful protesters.
"In no time did the police of the Sûreté du Québec act as instigators or commit criminal acts," the news release states in French.
There's video of the guy carrying a rock, which certainly looks like he was trying to instigate something. When a protestor told him to put down the rock, he shoved the protestor...physically assaulted him. That's a criminal act.
If I was that union guy, I'd be down at SQ headquarters pressing charges against the undercover cop right now.
There's a whole list of cops who desperately need to be fired and prosecuted for malfeasance. Geez, as if life isn't hard enough these jerks have to go cause trouble.

I spent US$15 on the pair I'm wearing again today in 1998 and only now are they starting to need to be replaced. They just don't wear out!
The politicians who allow and/or encourage the cops to do things like this need to be fired too, Bart. Let's start at the top and fire the three amigos.
Take that protesters!
Cops busted!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this.

You beat me to it - and the Rev. is quite correct that this needs to be remembered come election time.
These protesters are True Canadians.
Well thanks a lot SQ. Those of us that defended you now look like assholes.
