The numbers that can be found at this site indicate that this is a more worrisome event than one might think. Particularly when a majority of CPC Members are anti choice.

I suppose asking for a link with backing data would be too much?

Also, in 2005 before coming to power, he stated that it would be permissible for anyone to bring a Private Member's Bill on the question.

I do not take comfort from a belief that it will not be raised.

You do realise that private members bills get brought quite often and that most die a quick death.

You have the damned link. Are you really trying to take over from Shepherd?

You do realise that Private Members' Bills being brought often has no bearing on this? It is an important question that does not need your snarkiness.

2Cdo asked polite... no snarkiness there.

You're the one being an ASS here... par for the course.

Ray - after all the shit that's been hurled at Eureka, including by 2Cdo, do you really expect him to turn on a dime just because somebody asks "nicely?" Maybe if everybody just engaged with his arguments and showed where they think he was wrong, instead of piling on to every utterance with vituperation and scorn, it would lead somewhere. Don't know why you expect him to take the high road with muddy mire that his opponents have taken.

EyeBrock @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 12:52 pm

You reap what you sow andy.

andyt @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:00 pm

Then there will be a lot of shit harvesting going on by your crowd, Brock. Eureak definitely exaggerates. His claims may not bear out and he may come on as a know it all. So call him on that. But the shit that's been flung his way is unbelievable, just personal attacks. It's people feeling virtuous while venting their bile.

EyeBrock @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:02 pm

My crowd? Paranoid andy?

Eureka went looking for his fights andy.

raydan @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:03 pm

Eureka fully expected to "rumble" with someone when he posted, so he lashed out at the first person who disagreed with him, even though that person was very polite. From what I've seen, he has never been very "accepting" of anybody who disagreed with his views.

True though that the treatment he's received has made him worse.

peck420 @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:08 pm

andyt,

Have you read any of the replies to eureka's posts at the start of most threads?

Stage one: eureka makes a claim.
Stage two: It gets refuted by multiple members with sources.
Stage three: eureka lies to cover the error.
Stage four: The mud slinging begins.

This has been repeated in at least the half dozen threads that I have participated in.

I won't even respond to his/her posts because I don't want to get drawn in any more.

andyt @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:09 pm

He came on strong as far as his opinions go. But the fights started from your crowd, with the insults etc. As usual with Shep in the vanguard of just plain personal attacks and nothing else. Then when that triggers Eureka, the rest of you pile on.

As I said, don't you have any shame? Do you really like being in a circle jerk like that? Maybe you don't even notice it, because it's just the SOP for this forum.

peck420 @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:10 pm

You just made my day!

I didn't think I had been here long enough to have a 'crowd'.

XD XD

raydan @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:15 pm

Can I be in your crowd, Peck? :D

Gunnair @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:22 pm

Me too. I need a crowd so Andy, Eureka, Curtman, Roe, and Macguyver will stop ganging up on me. :D

peck420 @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 1:25 pm

^^ [BB]

Edit:
Crap, this now applies to both of you. XD

what makes this funny is Andy takes pot shots at Eureka's 'hyperbole', while he complains about the rest of us being mean to him. I have no idea why such a mild comment was edited. Maybe the mods know something about him that we don't. I've already said that he shouldn't be banned when others have suggested it. He adds a certain colour to the forums, albeit, it's fecal brown. let him ramble. Anyone who has tried to engage him in polite debate has found themselves rudely treated. The Eureka caricature is not real, and only a thud fuck can't see that. Discord and disrespect is what he has sought from Day One, we've all got our axes honed to cut it.

eureka @ Fri Dec 23, 2011 10:48 pm

Thanks, andy, but you don't need to have them start on you. It would have been useful for you to show where you think there is hyperbole since there is none. Having been around politics for nearly sixty years, I have seen democracy in its real sense. I remember Jacques Servan Schreiber calling Great Britain the "world's only true democracy and I know why he thought that.

Now there are no democracies and Canada is fast becoming one of the world's authoritarian and secretive states.

As for Kyoto, I know one Hell of a lot more about climate change than anyone here, including Zipperfish. The scientist you thought was a friend is a nephew and is a world authority in certain areas that are affected most and will affect the Planet most.

He thinkis it is too late.

The astrophysicist who designed and analysed the programmes for the satellites NASA launched six years ago to see what was happening in the Troposphere and the Stratosphere is also a relative but more distant. His work then silenced the deniers about that aspect AND proved the accuracy of models in finding that the reality was almost exactly as predicted.

He is not very sanguine about the future.

And no matter how much fact I posted here, I have to read the ineffable stupidity and denial of these jerks.

It would be interesting and useful had they ever found any contradiction or argument but they did not, I could have given them what little reason for uncertainty there is but I already know those arguments.

As for some of the above, that poster did not ask nicely. The link was there. It was in the response where he supposedly asked for a link.

What answer did he expect.

In any event, I will not be reading any more of this.
