If you mean more for the government, yer right. As a matter of fact I got a sneak preview of the tax returns for the 2010 tax year.

How much did you earn in 2010?
Send it in.
Quebec residents add 50%

No you got confused when you saw the rebate. That's a credit, not a deduction.

What are you talking about? You were complaining that the corporations would pass the buck, now you're going back to the "tax" thing?

PublicAnimalNo9 @ Tue Aug 04, 2009 5:10 pm

wow, out of that entire post THIS is all you got out of it??
"What are you talking about? You were complaining that the corporations would pass the buck, now you're going back to the "tax" thing?"

Yer the one that steered the conversation from corporations to the individual taxpayer, or do you bother reading what you write?

And no, I didn't get confused. After 5 years working for Revenue Canada(when it was stilll called that) I think I have a pretty good handle on how to read a tax return.

Yeah, this Conservative government reduced corporate taxes, then gave us peanuts with the GST rebate.

The Green Shift was entirely about shifting the tax burden to corporations who pollute.

And "shifting" jobs right outta Canada when those corporations start laying off people in droves to pay for this 'Green Shit'.

You support the program, tell me how it works.

What happens when Canada shift the tax burden on these corporations? How do they intend to handle the side effects such as job losses and the potential to lose certain industries?

And I've already described HOW that burden will just be shifted to the taxpayer by corporations.
Besides, I don't exactly remember getting anything in the way of a tax cut with the Cretin and Martin at the helm. The Cretin wouldn't even LOWER the GST after swearing up and down he would scrap it altogether.
Harper may not be the best PM this country ever had( probably not even close) but he's still better than the tax and waste alternative. And who knows, if the Liberal and NDP jackasses shut up and let him do his JOB, maybe he could actually do something positive without worrying about a bunch of cry babies that think they're the only party that should rule, trying to torpedo him at every move. They need to grow up and face the fact they couldn't get elected in the the last 2 elections cuz they have nothing to offer that we want.

How exactly would the corporations leave, and still have access to our natural resources?

It's called IMPORTING

The tax would be on carbon emissions. Not the workers they employ.

As for the GST cut, well sorry their big guy but had it gone the other way in the last election we'd be paying a carbon tax and 7% gst, how would that have helped the economy?

No, you would be getting a carbon rebate on your income tax.

So say I pay a buck in carbon taxes, how much would I get back? If you say a dollar well then you're in dream land because it would cost the government to to take it in the first place and then give it back. Sorry but the myth of a revenue neutral tax is right up there with Bigfoot and the Tooth Fairy. The only people it's revenue neutral to is the government, in the end it ends up costing us the voters.

The GST cut on the other hand is very simple, the government just doesn't take as much. Very self explanatory.

You don't pay the taxes. Pay attention.

There are other corporations who pollute who don't require the use of natural resources.

What then?
