Exactly. Hamas is goading IDF and they expect to lose a conventional fight. The more damage the IDF does the greater the win for Hamas. AKA PLEASE don't throw me in the briar patch sir!

herbie herbie:
To march 'in support of Palestinians" the day after a Hamas terrorist attack that killed 700 civilians is best described by a word Hillary used: deplorable. Utterly deplorable.
To be so deluded you think you speak for Palestinians assumes you think they all support murder and terrorism, when you're merely dupes.
Although totally free to march, may you be met like the KKK's freedom to protest with rotten tomatoes, eggs and bricks.
And Thanos, give up the brainwashed delusion it has anything to do with "the left".

At the very least, read the fucking room. Like I said before, the Palestinians are desperately short on international goodwill right now, so now is not the time to be seen taking their side, even though Israel has repressed them for decades.

Why? The socialist left, not the liberal left, has always been anti-Israel. They're quite happily putting it on display again. It's an important factor because if any of the pro-Hamas rallies in North America & Europe turn violent it will be because of the likes of Antifa rioting on behalf of the Palestinians. It's an atavistic feature the left will always have, a deep ugliness in their character & belief system that went obsolete back in the 1970's but the rotting corpse of it is still stinking up their thinking today.

It was a well planned and coordinated attack and the results are horrifying. With the other extremists from other countries getting involved this will be a long bloody battle with the citizens who have no voice paying the ultimate price.

IDF tells Gazans: flee Gaza while you can

As Jon Stewart would say, "Swim for it!".

The world is anti-Hamas, not anti Palestinian.

The rallies are pro-Palestinian, and anti-Hamas. Hamas is the bad guy here, not Palestine. Palestinians and Israelis both want peace so they call live safely, just like everyone else.

When Hamas won elections in Gaza by a slim margin, they proceeded to wipe out any opposition against them. They haven't held elections in 18 years. Palestinians are brutalized as much by Hamas as they are by Israel.

As a government, Hamas is responsible for food, water, schools, hospitals, etc. Instead they worked on tunnels and rockets and flaming balloons and destroying Israel rather than making the lives of Gazans better. Let's not pretend Gazan's aren't victimized by every level of bureaucracy over them, from the UN on down.

True, but not many people are bothering to make that distinction. And as always, it’s Hamas behind this horror, but hthe Palestinian people who will suffer the most in the end.

Thanos Thanos:
Gonna be a real hOOt if the collapse of Israeli intelligence assets can be traced back to the documents debacle at Mar A Lago. Yes, it is entirely believable to assume that Trump is both crazy & stupid enough to wave around a list of names of Israeli sources in Gaza in front of a room full of the perpetually grifting catamites who form his royal court. These garbage people who rotate in orbit around Trump would have no trouble selling out their own home country of the United States, so they wouldn't hesitate in the slightest about fucking over a foreign state like Israel if they thought they could make a buck off of it.

Catamite! Thank you. I was trying to remember that word the other day. It was driving me bananas.

No surprise at the savagery displayed by Hamas. Right up there with ISIS, just commit the worst atrocities you can against civilians in the short time allotted. The throngs of Palestinians, both in Gaza and in demonstrations around the world show that the actions of Hamas were widely supported.

Over the next three weeks or so Israel will out-war crime Hamas though, by a factor of about 20 to 1, because that's about in keeping with the historical record before their bloodlust is sated.

And at the end there will still be Israel, and Gaza, and the West Bank and about 2 million Palestinians and they'll hate each other even more.

Really I don't see an end until Israel and Iran go at it. Which could actually happen this time, given the brutality of this attack.

I don't know why humans take these shortcuts. Not all USAians are Trumpanzees. Not all Russians are Pro-Putin. Not all Palestinians are pro-Hamas.

And that is EXACTLY what Hamas wants. They want those who are Pro-Hamas and anti-Israel to be more so, and for people still teetering on the fence to tip toward pro-Palestine.

All the Hamas leadership is already safe in Iran and Lebanon, so it's just low level martyrs and innocent civilians in Gaza. Expendables.

How do you conclude I'm taking their side? 75 years of shouting "Death to Israel" and incessant terror attacks is going to earn my sympathy?
Even the IRA managed to reach an accord, the people of Palestine have made their own bed.
Thousands of rockets to launch, guns everywhere and whining about the hardships of the average family?

xerxes @ Tue Oct 10, 2023 11:06 am

That wasn’t directed at you. Pardon the ambiguity.

I was thinking more of the pro Palestine demonstrations we’ve seen across Canada and the world, that are stupefyingly tone-deaf with regards to what has happened in the last few days.

As Beau pointed out, no group has made 'peace' through violence. Bloody Sunday instigated the peace process. Peace was made through negotiation, not force. Kicking the Brits out of India, and Canada for that matter, as well. It wasn't war, it was negotiation.

It doesn't matter how many rockets are fired at Israel, or how many buildings Israel destroys - it will not result in 'peace'. What they need is negotiations. But war is what they both want.
