This isnt really a big deal so dont buy into the media hype that this is going to destroy Canada and open the doors for separation it wont. Harper was forced to deal this hand secondly. It doesn't matter how the media or the bloc spins what harper said, stick to the english version, its straighforward and symbolic in nature and promises nothing other than formal recognition.

If Harper wouldnt of done this then the bloc would of came forward with their motion which would of been rejected and was. With that they could go back to Quebec citizens saying "see, we told you they dont recognize us "

This way he stold their thunder and now may have a chance of winning some seats in Quebec amongst soft nationalists, (Puis, je ne veux pas voir vos sondage Elvis, je ne crois pas dan des sondage anyways)

The problem with separation is the quebecois federalist population as well as first nations and anglophone who don't want to separate from Canada. Separatists are to blame for making French an exclusive culture within Quebec instead of encouraging billingualism throughout our country.

It matter more than you think. Today Jean Charest en Benoit pelletier (Intergouvernmental minister) where explaining how the Québec nation included everybody that live on the territory of Québec (Civic Definition). And of course everybody in the ROC know very well that the motion that was past is based on the ethnic definition.

Now imagine Stephan Harper and Jean Charest standing together at a press conference (And it will appen some day) Don't you think that journalist won't ask them to define what they really meant??? [titanic]

Wait till the ROC cuts up what you think is a "nation" and sever you from the purse strings, boy your little nation will be vacant.

One thought, get your health care while you can because you can bet your bad ticker you won't be getting that fixed from the "new nation".

I can’t wait till Harper says we will be saving billions a year for your language being enforced where it has no right. [moon]

The only reason why there is still some Fédéralist in Québec is because they don't know guy like you. Keep up the good work.

To be honest I hope Harper is dealing with Duceppe rather than Charest on this one, both of us dont need no bullshit.

You saying Harper wasn't sincere with his motion, .... I believe he was, if you dont well thats your choice, and if you feel you Quebec needs material promises from the ROC to feel confident before Quebec goes out on its own then ..... Bonne chance !!!, vous aurez besoin de ca

Stop reading the spam mail that comes to your mailbox.

You have such an open mind...

I read it in the Ottawa Citizen, dipshit. But you wouldn't want to hear that now, would you? You'll just dismiss it all as leftist media bullshit, solely because you disagree with it. Grow up...

Do you want me to look for quote for you??? When you say Québecois in english you know very well what it mean Bodah! And it is not the PLQ or the PQ or the Bloc who are excluding you from the "nation" but you dear Stephan Harper.

Just listen to this La tribune 28 novembre Click on the link Écouter l'extrait.

Me too I think he was sincere By calling the Québecois a nation but he will try to spin this motion diferently to different audience.

A Quebecois is also a Canadian.

Elvis, you forgot to point out that little detail :D

If the Quebec "Nation" eventually leaves, they will find that the physical boundaries of the Province are very different from the boundaries of the Nation. It would be smart to close any extra federal buildings and remove military personal and equipment. Of course, Quebec will have to start casting around for someone to underwrite their portion of the debt.

This is a bit unfortunate in that I was planning on sending my little one to French Immersion in Van.... guess there's little reason for this, and little chance that these programs will continue.

Hopefully, this will take place under a Liberal government. I'd hate for the Native population to make a decision under the current Conservative regime.

hwacker @ Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:30 pm

Liberal government won't be a government until your little one is in college.

One thought, Home School.

I wouldn't put any money on the longevity of this formulation of "Conservatives". I think the Yanks just showed the future of a united right. I know I have no interest. It's not clear how commited Stevey is either.

Yes, home schooling or one of the privates if Quebec goes the way of the Dodo.
