Mass Shooting in Nova Scotia

We will find out soon enough what kind of firearms he had and take it frim there.
I don't think we will. I have been paying attention, and with the last couple mass shootings I wasn't able to find out that information before I lost interest and forgot to check.
If it's an AR15 style or a Glock we should know soon, any other type does not fit the Libs agenda and will probably be suppressed (pun intended).

Switching topics, what I’m interested in learning about is whether it’s legal to replicate a police cruiser. I know there are laws against impersonating an officer and against unauthorized use of lights and sirens, but shouldn’t it be illegal to even own a realistic looking fake cop car and forge official decals, etc?
(b)
not being a peace officer or public officer, uses a badge or article of uniform or equipment in a manner that is likely to cause persons to believe that he is a peace officer or a public officer, as the case may be.
That's the rub. Putting push bars on a Crown Vic isn't illegal. Buying an old fleet vehicle isn't illegal. Putting red and blue lights in the vehicle isn't illegal.
It's when you use those lights on a public road, or try to pull vehicles over that your legal activities change to illegal.
I've had several Crown Vic's and similar cars (called Ford 'Panther' Platform), and this was always a hairy furball for thread topics. Right beside "what is the best oil?".
The rub is how the public perceive the vehicle. When he was in uniform, in the vehicle it becomes an offence; because it will cause a reasonable person to believe it is a police vehicle.
I think putting the decals on it passed the point of no return. Doesn't matter if he was wearing a uniform, anyone would believe that was a cop car just siting there.

So, could someone from the gun control crowd please tell us what type of firearm or firearms Gabriel Wortman used to murder these people and whether they were registered, unregistered or stolen?
Because, after the PM's statement on "gun control" it's become very important to the future of gun ownership in Canada and has made even finding the real reason or reasons for this madman's actions secondary to a political agenda.
Talk about political opportunism. The bodies haven't even been laid to rest and he's using them as a weapon in his campaign for gun control.

Well if he were Muslim, or even someone of some vague middle eastern / South Asian ancestry than can be loosely linked to Islam regardless of whether he himself was religious, the righties would be all over politicizing this. But since it’s just another murderous White male as almost all mass shooters are it’s another “isolated incident” and any discussion is “politicizing a tragedy”. Right?
So, do you honestly think it's the same thing for a private citizen on the internet to accuse a murderer of a religious crime before all the evidence is in and a standing Prime Minister using a mass murder to further his own political agenda before all the facts are in or the bodies even laid to rest?

Calm down. It’s not like they are also tracking you via Bluetooth on your cellphone for ‘covid’ reasons.

Righ but when you put authentic looking decals and lights is that going too far? Even if you don’t use it?
I note that with counterfeit money for example it’s a crime to even make it for your own enjoyment, they don’t say it’s perfectly legal so long as you don’t try and use it.

It's also likely that Police have found more victims in the various house fires that were set.

Well the gun control bill he’s talking about was already on the legislative agenda before the COVID crisis started.
But no I don’t see how that’s similar at all.

This will take a lot of time to sort out before the questions of so many will be answered. There are so many crime scenes to be processed and analyzed properly.
I can't imagine what the RCMP in Nova Scotia and all others involved with the investigations have to deal with right now in trying to put this all together AND during a pandemic that is already straining the system.
My thoughts are with the families and others who knew them, of the (at least) 22 victims of a crime that is beyond comprehension right now.

Jesus Christ. Words fail me.

That what, the guy was able to run around for 12 hours,
or the husband is pissed the RCMP not only let this guy run around for 12 hours,
they didn't bother to tell anyone either.

The Law is always concerned first and foremost with 'intent'. If you build a perfect copy of a Police Cruiser, there is no intent shown that you will impersonate a cop. You might be putting it in a museum. It might be just for display, or you intend to drive it only on your own property. When you get in it, drive it on a public road and pull people over, then your intent becomes clear.
Some things, like counterfeit money, are different. Just by making it you break laws regarding who can produce money. But there are no laws who can reproduce a car or a uniform, only what you intend to do with those representations.
