Quick note here,
99.999999% of anything purchased ON_RESERVE is delivered from OFF RESERVE.
No matter who sold it. Its the same shit from the same pile.
Granted. Are you going to admit I was right? I can find more official explanations if you like that prove it.
You are right. But your still a fucking idiot because someone reads your statement they think that there are all kinds of loopholes and any Indian can somehow avoid paying all sorts of taxes.
Perhaps when you make a statement like that, being a little more specific might help.
and yes, you are correct and I am a bad shithead jerk motherfucker . I am sorry.
I'm going for a beer with some lovely white women now. Wish me luck.

Only you jumped to conclusion man. I merely said not neccesarily, that was pretty ambiguous.

Native Canadians have a massive amount of benefits. Even with these benefits, they are the least productive group in this Country. High unemployment, poor health, poverty....all self inflicted.
What massive benefits?
Welfare, dental, housing, education paid for, no taxes......the list goes on.
Any low income earner is eligible for welfare, not just natives. Same with dental care.
Natives pay taxes on money earned and spent off the reserve.
Ah, depends on the Province. Natives are exempt from the "workfare" program in Ontario. Dental care for all low income Canadians? Not at all. The Non-Insured Health Benefits Program is for Natives only.

There's a program in BC where low income families can get free or subsidized dental care for the kids. I think it's called healthy kids.
Really though - the point is, the natives aren't getting all these goodies that everyone delights in posting about. The ones they do get are part of the treaty. Want everyone treated equally? The solution is simple...
Settle the land claims once and for all. It's time we lived up to our agreements.
Was it OUR agreements, or the British?

Ours. We assumed full responsibility the moment we wanted to assume full responsibilty for our country.

So what are you suggesting, Tricks - that we're under no obligation to honour the treaties because *technically* we didn't make the agreements because Canada wasn't a country at the time?
(RUEZ should stop reading here)
I thought you Cons were all about accepting responsibility?

Actually, yes, that's exactly what I am suggesting. Did you make the agreement? Did I? Did Derby? Did your parents? Did mine? etc.
Why should we have to pay for what people so very long ago did, when we weren't even a country.

Gotta disagree.
Would you like the Queen deciding land disputes?
Imagine if she "legally ceded" large portions of our land to them?
When we assumed the mantle of command we assumed responsibility with dealings with the natives.
Given that all native land disputes are entirely within the area we call "our country" how can this be anything but?

The land treaties (in my opinion, this is probably legally wrong) became null and void. It was a promise from the British, and when we became a country, we were not longer british.

Because some of us are honourable people.
And some of us apparently aren't.
Hey look everyone, Lily is talking down to people again. Lets all watch!

You guys should stop doing that. It makes you look silly.

Actually, the British made all the deals before 1867 and apparently it didn't coincide when our fore fathers wanted to create the Dominion of Canada. Now we have the headaches of land claims. After 1867, particularly treaty number 8 and beyond is the newly created government of Canada's blunders.

I knew when I asked you. Duh.

For the sake of clarification, the Canadian government made treaties of their own, correct?
