If it ever happened, the border would likely be the way it was between the US and Canada pre 911. There are far bigger issues where the PQ is in la la land about. Their share of the federal debt, for instance. Them wanting to use our dollar. I believe they even insist they could still hold Canadian passports.

And the laughs just keep coming!

$1:
Sovereign Quebec would keep dollar, seek Bank of Canada seat, Marois says

A sovereign Quebec would use the Canadian dollar and request a seat on the Bank of Canada’s decision-making body, Parti Québécois Leader Pauline Marois said Wednesday on the campaign trail.

The PQ Leader pointed to several studies on the matter conducted in the early 1990s which showed that their would be no obstacles for an independent Quebec to using the Canadian dollar. However, getting a seat on the Bank of Canada’s Governing Council would be more difficult.

Nothng new here, we've heard it all before. Including using our armed forces. Remember its sovereignty association. They're so used to getting anything they want from us trying to keep them from separating, they think it would continue even if they break up the country.

Time to quietly divert military hardware from Valcartier, Bagotville and St. Hubert to Edmonton and Trenton ... if that hasn't already been done.

These are actually clever tactics. Clearly she's dropping controversial sound bytes in order to stir up anti-Quebec feelings which will begin to appear in social media. Once they occur, like the burning of a fleur de lis or some such thing, she will be able to use it to fan the deep seated embers buried in th moderates with cries that Canada is anti-Quebec. I think this might get a but of traction based on reactions here. Just wait until we see a public reaction. Then the fun will really begin.

You are right, of course. I came from their originally and I should know better. My last, previous comment, though, I'm sure has had a lot of consideration over the years. The loyalty of the CAF must remain to Canada and they should have contingency plans in place ...

I would say the fun would really begin if they do actually separate.

The fate that will come to an independent Quebec, I wouldn't even wish upon a separatist.

If Canada makes a stern policy thusly:

You don't get to use sovereignty association .
You don;t get to use our dollar or passport .
Independence is Independence .
you will start off in debt to us.

We will protect and group who wishes to hold their own referendum and stay in Canada.

all the native peoples who wish for their land to still be part of Canada will be protected by law and force.

Montrealers, no worries mates , we got your back..

this is what needs to be said and backed up.

their economy will aid us and the United States.

A large educated people starving to death on our doorstep will build our toys instead of china.
We could use a populace willing to serve us.

Canada needs to take the same tone that England is currently taking with Scotland - seperatiom means seperation including currency.

I doubt we will see a hard nose tone unless the numbers start to look like seperatists are winning as there will be fear of alienating moderates and giving the PQ propaganda machine fresh fodder.

unfortunately for me i might have to vote PC in order to have someone with the chance they have the balls to implement exactly what you just said.

I need those racist reform red necks to stand up for my rights!

I doubt if Justin would go that route.
He might try to appease them and keep them a close relative who is always in need of financial backing.

The Quebec government will seek to nationalise all the Canadian Tire stores. Then after separation they will have their own currency.

Any excuse to bash on Palin, eh?

Sure why not? Or would an Obama comparison be more apt?
