If a woman is wearing the burkini because hubby is making her, he won't allow her to go to the beach at all with the burkini ban - what does that accomplish?
It keeps shit off the beach.

So women that are abused by their husbands are shit. Got ya.
BeaverFever BeaverFever:
Are Jews prohibited from wearing kippahs?
If they wear a normal hat for shade over the kippah then it's out of sight and out of mind. But if it's the aggressive brand of Orthodox Jews who are every bit the assholes the fundie Islamists are then kick them the fuck off the beach, too.

Beyond the burkini: Muslim countries that ban the veil
Naturally, stories from Europe about banning "Islamic" clothing tend to grab the world's attention and make headlines. The debacle is well-known and well-discussed the world over.
What’s perhaps lesser known, however, is that Europe is not alone in its legislation against “Islamic” clothing. In fact, some of the most guilty nations when it comes to banning these types of clothing are in the Middle East and Africa. Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, and even tiny Muslim-majority Kosovo have storied histories of maintaining a Muslim identity - but without the veil.

I think it also is Psychological, considering France has recently probably been hit harder than any Western European Nation by Terrorism, its probably seen as a way to keep the peace, so to speak. Think, since November they've had 6 attacks (and 11 since last January), of varying degrees, the populace is terrified, The Burka ban rightly or otherwise is a reaction to that terror, and I truly think, for the most part many Canadians cannot truly understand that. The worst ISIS'esque terror we've endured to date, was the Parliament attacks in 2014.
You look at France and its a powder keg, waiting for that spark to kick off what will be a brutal civil war. The longer the war with the DAESH continues, the more this will happen.

The bans came before the attacks. Look up Sarkozy vote grab.
Here's the other side, the ban the Burkini side, from a French woman.
Why should France accept the burkini? Its time to debate integration head-on

Was it enforced?
I doubt it, because I think I'd remember an SJW response to this.

Paris Police Attacked for Enforcing Burqa Ban in new Argenteuil Shame

Touche. However at the end of the day, its well within the rights of a nation to enforce any law they choose, however distasteful you see it, and considering you are not a French Citizen far be it for you to criticize them for it. Also this just lends credence to why the nation banned the burka to begin with. Civilised people don't attack police for doing their job.
