I have travelled in England, mostly London area and Ireland, and Wales. I was always treated with respect and politeness. Never encountered rudeness and the service in hotels and pubs was excellent. I have good friends and some family in England... super wonderful people. And I can say the same for the Finns.

Rude my arse! Brits are just more direct boots. If you don't like it, well, bollocks to your head!

Customer service is not a strong British core value.

Touche'!

In my experience (admittedly limited in Europe), London was by far the worst place in Europe for rudeness. I thought for sure I'd run into a stereotypical rude Frenchmen during a week in France. Imagine my shock when they were all so nice...

Again we disagree.

Go to Brighton. I never had any problem with customer service although admittedly I only had experience with pubs, nightclubs, and grocery stores.

I did use a flat placement service though and they were first rate and very helpful. Their shop even looked like something out of a carry on film.

Ah man, the Finns are great... living in Sweden for a year I'd often go around with my crazy Finnish friends. For the last 4 years in the Czech Republic I'd often pal around with my Finnish buddies... they're always up for a good time.

Not many true Brits in central London, most of the stores have immigrant staff. The rudeness is not from the Brits.

We (the Brits) say it has it is, no pussyfooting around, thats not being rude.

All the sensitives should be forced to spend 2 years in Liverpool. :D

Watch it.

I guess a lot of people had a far different experience then I did. I had great food, great living and a great time. Once I had dental pains and thought another wisdom tooth was coming in so I went to a dentists. I thought it was going to come out right there and cost me loads.

He determined I didn't need to have it out as it was correctly placed and that was it. Didn't charge me or anything. Thats great service.

Boot, while I can somewhat agree with you, I have to applaud this immigrant's attitude to conforming to the language of his new home country. If I were to move to Germany for instance, I would learn German, and speak German whenever/wherever I could.
