Hey atheists, quit shoving your message down our throats.

How is buying an ad shoving it down your throat.

I'm actually talking about you guys. Ya we get it you don't like religion, you don't believe in God. You guys are worse then the Jehova's Witness.

You can't go through any community in this country without passing a couple of churches and their signs. I can't imaging that a few adds on buses is going to hurt anyone.

Did you have a Atheist knock on your door lately?

roger-roger @ Wed Jan 07, 2009 6:29 pm

You can just choose to ignore all the posts about atheism then, I ignore all the posts promoting theism 8)

The word “probably” makes this an Agnostics ad, not Atheist.

In any case, annoying religious zealot bullshit versus annoying anti-religious zealotbullshit.

Both annoying bullshit.

I really don't understand why atheists need to "convert" others to atheism. If you don't believe in God, why do you care if people do, let alone needing to spread your beliefs, since, in the end, there's no reward for spreading those beliefs, since you die, rot away, and basically are forgotten.

I agree. This millitant atheism is stupid. Isn't one of the man objections of religion is that it forces people to think the same?
Know what ya mean man, kind of like being a Harperite! (A branch of the Holy Friedmanite Church of Everlasting Economic Salvation-Later Day Dictators)

When the point comes that you stop being a hack, tell me so I can treat you seriously. Till then, here's a cartoon to keep you amused and busy reading the words out loud.

I think the atheists are looking for recruits. Funny thing, atheists must be the smartest people of all time. Their creed is there is no God, in order to categorically say that, would you not have to be God yourself because after all, you are saying that you have access to 100% of all the knowledge and information of all the universe? Anyone who has read the bible also knows who first said - "You shall be as God".

They raised 135,000 pounds and all they could do is put an ad on the bus? Talk about thinking small time.

It's funny, you quoted me but didn't actually read what I posted.

Actually, it's proper for an atheist to say "probably", because no one, not even an atheist, can prove definitively that there is no god. If god-believers did the same, there might be less friction between the two.

roger-roger @ Wed Jan 07, 2009 8:23 pm

I would love to see an add saying "There probably is a God, So Worship Him"

But atheism is based on the belief that there is no god and they leave no options open for the contrary.

Only agnostics believe that there may be a god but they can't prove it either way.

roger-roger @ Wed Jan 07, 2009 8:26 pm

Then you have agnostic atheists who believe there is no God but would change their mind if evidence was presented to the contrary.

Nobody can prove conclusively either way, including both atheists and believers. The best they can do is "believe in god" or "not believe in god". An agnostic just doesn't know what to believe yet.

Not everyone is forgotten when they die, Atheist Bus ads are a reaction to many theistic ads that were prowling around in London. No one is really trying to convert anyone.

So, all atheists are being right now is reactionary to people they consider irrational? Strange, isn't it. I thought we were the fools for believing in God and such, but of course, wasting 135,000 pounds to react to religious billboards.

You would think the 135,000 would of been better spent on "enjoying life" instead of spreading non-belief to believers.

$1:
People like to prosletyze their beliefs. It's natural. In politics, religion, whatever. That's why most people are here at canadaka fervently arguiong their points of view.

Ah, one thing. Its rare to have a religious member actually start an article/discussion about God or their religious beliefs. Outside of maybe one troll or two (I'm referring to more respected members, lily, for example) we really don't need to talk about how our church or faith is spreading, or our God is better than your non-belief garbage. Most of the articles you would see about religion deals with atheists creating topics like "Organized Religion is a CON" or things like these and usually, like this article, is posted by a more respected member, and usually the bigotry against race or ethnic origin that would be condemned instantly, are usually accepted forthright, see the Religion Must Be Destroyed article about the Atheist Alliance.
