"Whatever you or I have to say on this is purely opinion at this point."<br />
<br />
You have a point there Michael Scott, a note of caution is advisable. Let’s start with Harper.<br />
<br />
From the Ottawa Sun<br />
<br />
Speaking to 240 fresh-faced military recruits during a swearing-in ceremony in Ottawa yesterday, Harper praised the RCMP, CSIS and Toronto-area police authorities for busting the al-Qaida-inspired cell and pledged more tools to fight terror in the future. <br />
"We will continue to support them by strengthening our laws, our policies and the resources dedicated to the fight against terrorism here and around the world," he said. <br />
Harper said the raid that netted 17 Toronto-area youth and men proves Canada is not immune to violent attacks. <br />
The whole article here:<br />

<br />
“strengthening our laws” points to The Old Poop for the watch for tighter laws caution. And Harpers before trial conclusions of “proves Canada is not immune to violent attacks.” Pat M has a point as well about the headlines spurring preemptive conclusions that may last longer that the actual facts that will follow. <br />
I think, you all should be arrested and shot for teason. Freedom Fighters BS, Terrorists.
By the way, your Tin Hats are waiting to be pickup up all.

I think what Armyguy is trying to say is we peacenicks should stay out of the way and let the Marlboro men handle it. Guess we better be quiet or he'll shoot us like the sand niggers.
(I think, you all should be arrested and shot for teason)
After an open threat like the one above I am surprise armyguy has not been sanctioned
It is now HE
who displays thee traits of a terrorist

Boy! Some guys have no sense of humour at all.
He does make an interesting point about treason though. Our (Martin's) government stands in breach of international law for its complicity in the illegal action in Haiti in 2004. That was clearly a breach of international law and makes Martin subject to trial at the ICC for crimes against humanity. Maybe we should arrest him and turn him in for trial. It would be nice to get Harper for treason for involving us in a combat role in an imperial war of aggression, but the legal case for that would be a bit "iffy" at this point.
I've experienced all known political systems and ideologies and have studied history, including many years of military history, for over 60 years, but I've never heard of any country having been invaded, or of any terrorist plot against others on account of "envy of their freedoms"
This propaganda crap started in the USA and should have remained there, until now, with our satellite politicians are jumping on the same idiotic, ideological bandwagon. Yet people believe this nonsense?
Get the multinational corporations and the foreign military protecting them out of those countries and there won't be any terrorism any more. Not here anyway. The nutcases may be blowing each other up at home over scriptural quotations, but won't have reason to do it here.
As far the Oklahoma City bombing is concerned, I have seen whole cities destroyed by all kinds of aerial bombs and artillery, but never knew that a truck exploding in front of a building, could tear up a huge basement.
Admittedly I don't know a thing about explosives, my specialty was rifles, but I have asked several of my friends who have worked with explosives and they haven't either. When they dug ditches and blew up rocks with explosives, they had to bury them, or drill holes for them. Did it right here on our land when they were putting in Hydro/phone poles.
Explosions on the surface go sideways and up, but not down.
Even large aerial "mines" dropped on cities will wipe out whole blocks, but leave hardly a dent in a pavement. Mortarshells in combat hardly stir the dirt when they explode. The only time they do damage below, when they hit branches, but I have seen mortar shells blowing up on the surface of water making hardly any wave.
Interesting to see Harper's dismay over these alleged terrorists, while welcoming some of the biggest criminals on Earth, the Bilderbergers, with open arms.
Ed Deak. Big Lake, BC.
The brainiacs as CSIS must be reading Vive, a quote from the Calgary Herald,
"as was a CSIS building in downtown Toronto near the CN Tower and other conspicuous, heavily populated areas."
Whatever. Just try to make me carry around an ID card you facist pricks. I am so happy I own guns, not to protect me from robbers but from the government, whoops, are they not one in the same? Fuck you, mein fuhr Harper.

Really good comments from almost everyone. As for you, Ed Deak,
you've really set a new standard. Thanks everyone.
I've never swallowed that artificial slogan about "They hate us for our
free-dumbs" but had always blamed George W. Bush who could make
"Good morning, Mother" sound dubious. I had never put it together as
you have, Ed: that no country has ever been invaded for its freedoms.
Also, I was equally doubtful about that Oklahoma bombing ... wondered
how farmers got by without accidentally blowing their barns off the map
... or how drivers of diesel trucks loaded with ammonia never had drastic
accidents ... wondered how anybody could park a pick-up truck in front
of a big building and destroy most of it. But then, I know nothing
about explosives ... so just moved on. Thanks for this insight.
Toronto Star has several in-depth commentaries today (June 4), Thomas
Walkom's is especially good as he says we really know nothing except
that 17 people were arrested and some material seized.
But of course the wingnuts and nutbars were out immediately in support
of the major wingnuts who now govern us. Stockwell Day, who is
Minister of Public <<choke, gak>> Safety, warns us to remain calm.
Fools. Abominable, treacherous fools.
As far as the Murrah building bombing goes, there were reports that two unexploded bombs were found in the wreckage there. You are right Ed, columns further away from the supposed truck bomb were blown out and columns closer to the supposed truck bomb were not. The walls were blown out, not in and thats not all the contradictory evidence that leaked out. And then there is the fact that the BATF office staff and agents were told to stay away from the Murrah building that day. And then who did Clinton point the finger at, robed arabs who were seen in the area, he said there would be serious international consequences if arabs were involved? And then the story about unexploded bombs leaked out over the air, the new pearl harbor scenario goes south and then, low and behold, a patsy surfaces.<br />
<br />
To get back to the events in our country, their names were published and guess what, they are all of arab descent. <br />
<br />
I used to think that you were innocent until proven guilty but now the Prime Minister, the police and the presstitutes spew evidence all over the media like irresponsible addled shills.<br />
<br />
"The Toronto Star, citing an unidentified source, said the group had a list that included the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa as well as the Toronto branch office of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. At the news conference, officials emphasized that the targets were all in Canada. <br />
The men accused in Canada operated what the police called training camps for its members. <br />
<br />
At their news conference, the police displayed at least one pistol, electronics components, military fatigues, army-style boots and two-way radios they said were used at the camps, although they would not disclose their locations.<br />
<br />
The Toronto Star reported that in 2004 the intelligence agency began monitoring Internet exchanges, some of which were encrypted. According to the newspaper, the training in camps took place north of Toronto. Members of the group, according to that account, often visited a popular Canadian chain of doughnut shops to wash up following their training sessions."<br />
<br />
All of the men under arrest were taken to a heavily fortified police station in Pickering, Ontario, a city east of Toronto. Five were under the age of 18 and not identified by the authorities. The others were identified as Fahim Ahmad, 21; Zakaria Amara, 20; Asad Ansari, 21; Shareef Abdelhaleen, 30; Qayyum Abdul Jamal, 43; Mohammed Dirie, 22; Yasim Abdi Mohamed, 24; Jahmaal James, 23; Amin Mohamed Durrani, 19; Steven Vikash Chand, alias Abdul Shakur, 25; Ahmad Mustafa Ghany, 21; and Saad Khalid, 19.<br />
<br />
Anser Farooq, a lawyer from Mississauga who is representing five of the defendants, said a lack of information at Saturday's court hearing made it difficult to assess the case brought by the police.<br />
<br />
In court, he said, government lawyers broke with tradition and did not present a synopsis of the reasons for their charges, arguing that they had not had time to prepare it.<br />
<br />
"These individuals were allegedly intent on committing acts of terrorism against their own country and their own people," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a statement. "Today, Canada's security and intelligence measures worked." "<br />

I am sure that if they ever wanted to arrest me they would bring out a tank and 100 SWAT team members, perhaps they would keep a nuclear bunker buster on stand by. Why did they have snipers on top of the court house? Was Osama planning a rescue attempt? Stockwell Day is nothing but an Aryan nations loving hick. I am sure he and Rob Anders have a cross burning to go to after they have helped stone some of the local witches for having zippers on their clothing. That is, if they can take their cocks out of the bibles they so vigoursly hump. When I think about the Conservatives I can't help but think of the movie, "A Handmaid's Tail," Mr. Harpers ultimate fantasy. I wonder what government friendly company is going to get the contract to build Canada's concentration camps, anyone hazard a guess? I hope to have died long before people start being put into ovens and I ain't making a joke of this shit either. Anyone who has ever agreed with PNAC should be put on Alcatraz.

I understand your anger, I feel it as well. Don't come at them in the way that they want you to.

Don't worry, I won't. I'll wait until we have country wide riots and the armed forces gunning down people who want fresh food and water.

I wonder if anyone has ever asked the question,
" Mr. Prime Minister, if you think Afghanistan is so great why don't YOU join the army?"
Might make a good sign to plant on Parliament Hill!
