25 minute ferry ride from the fishing harbour in Donggang. Nice 15 minute walk from the village and a buddy got some prime specimens for his salt water aquarium. This is from Xiao Liouchou(Shao lee-Oh cho)
Mine...
not a single freaking cloud for poor Whitey Roundeye.
A light day
one of my favourite fruits, the long yen(Dragon Eye). While smaller with a smoother rind, the flavour is pretty much the same as a lychee. the texture and flavour is similar to a seedless green grape, only the flavour is slightly more flowery.
Bored, so I took a walk(with a golf umbrella, frozen water bottles and a camping chair) and watched the ships coming and going up at an old observation point on Monkey Mountain, overlooking the straits and the mouth of the harbour(about two hundred yards off the road from the university. I usually head here when I need some me time. Most Taiwanese don't bother with the short walk as they are nervous about snakes and monkeys
it's not like you have to be rich to get lychee here. during the season, everyone is trying to give you loads of them. A friend's father has some orchards, and we have more than enough of them mango and guava.....I hate guava.
