FuBaR @ Fri Dec 09, 2005 9:31 pm

Dude, I like totally just realised that you're 15!!!
On subject........I'm sorry, but I can't vote Conservative. I still don't trust them, nor do I like their leader, nor do I like most of their policies.
Believe me, I hate what the Liberals have done as much as the next Canadian, but I still feel that personally, the Liberal party is still the right party for me. Plus, all I've been seeing on this site recently is stuff that emotes: "Conservatives are angels and Liberals are lying, cheating, stupid satanic fucktards." Give it a rest. There are plenty of things bad about
ALL of the Federal Parties. By all means, discuss politics. But don't start preaching about how the party you love is soooo much better than the others. Yeah, I hate what the Liberals have done, but they still represent me and my beliefs. And while I also like the NDP, I don't go around saying stuff like: "NDP are the best choice for Canada because Conservatives are evil." I have defended the Liberal Party on occasion but I have not preached that they are soooo good because they are not Conservative or NDP. Give it a rest people..........
This goes for
everyone.
I understand that we all have different views and beliefs, and we are all entitled to them, but please stop preaching them for the Love of God, Vishnu, Buddha, Ganesh, Allah, YahWeh, or whoever you pray to( or don't pray to for that matter...).
If you support the Conservative Party of Canada, fine by me. But please don't preach about how great you think they are. If you support the Liberal Party, fine by me. But please stop preaching about how great you think they are. You know where I'm going with this.......

Why? If you don't like it don't venture into a thread where your going to find some "preaching". It's not hard to figure out which threads those are. The whole idea of an election campaign is to try and convince people to vote for your party.
Yeah, nobody should post anything or start any threads about how great the Libs and the Cons are - stop wasting peoples' time.
The aforementioned doesn't apply to the NDP - The Greatest Political Party In Human History.

Tman1 @ Fri Dec 09, 2005 11:05 pm
Well, you're not going to find much convincing on this forum. Yeah, Hwacker and Ridenrains ten thousand thread topics on the same crap is enough to convince me to vote Cons...
Personally I am sick of all these propaganda threads that are basically meaningless and some house cleaning is in order I would wager. I think Arctic_Menace has a point, and I think most people on this forum are less than credible on their political view points and enough with the preaching. I go on here everyday and see the same old..topics...Liberals suck, Martin sucks....

You know what I mean. I usually try to avoid these threads, but when you see that half of the new topics are about how great the Cons are, it's kinda hard to ignore. Especially when the title is stupid and at times, insulting. This mainly applies to the Liberals and Conservatives.

Well, Martin is a criminal. Caught red handed....
As for the conservative 'propaganda' - one man's information is another's propaganda. Just becuse you don't agree with the message don't label it with a word that carries such a negative image...

Sure he is, that's why he was cleared of any "red handed" actions.

Who says I don't agree with any of the messages pertaining in these threads? I merely said I am sick of the same threads having the same material. I'm curious as to what words I labeled carry a "negative" image. Do tell.
Either Martin is culpable in the sponsorship scam becuse as finance minister he knew that millions were being illegally spent, or he didn't know enough about his cabinet portfolio to be aware that millions were being illegally spent and was a completely incompetant finance minister.
Martin is a politically savvy cat who survived years of parlimentary life as JC's would-be-predessor, so I choose to believe the former.
I also recognise the difference between 'cleared' and 'not implicated'.
Aside from that, I think Martin was doing a not too bad job... He was tackling the issues that needed attention anyway.

He was implicated and he was cleared. What more difference do you want?

So what's your beef? One second you're saying "don't shoot the Conservative messenger" and now you're praising Paul Martin. I also happen to believe that Martin was dong not too bad a job and he
did tackle the issues at hand. I also think the Liberals have been in power too long at the expense of too much and change is needed.
Ever notice that when an NDP gentleman decides to streak his little thingy shrinks further into the scrotum and becomes invisible? Viagra does not help as the pri.. person just grows taller.

See?
The biggest problem with the whole zeitgeist of this thread is that there "needs" to be "shredding" of other people's views and values. (Of course, some of the self-proclaimed "shredders" have resorted to saying that "little" and "retarded" are antonyms, so the title isn't as menacing as some would have others believe)
What political polemicists have never figured out is that not all the best ideas for running a country are resident in just one party. Thus, a smart Conservative or smart Liberal would recognize the other party's really good planks and incorporate them into their own platform.
Does anybody really accuse Ford of plaigarizing or being morally corrupt or lacking vision for introducing seatbelts that were invented by Volvo?
Instead, the polemicists seek rather to destroy the other party, leaving nothing but a smouldering ruin of penitent Liberals or Conservatives as the case may be.
This is Canada and this is an election. It's not a Bloods/Crips turf war.
