The big difference between me and you is when I post something that I find is wrong I correct it or, in this case, I delete the incorrect post. I also apologize for jumping to an incorrect assumption that you posted it.

So with all the hoopla over the PMO scandals

and the fact all his top ministers abandoned ship ,

and the fact Harper helped ruin our economy by not knowing what to do no matter what he says otherwise

and the fact most Canadians are less happy than 12 years ago,

do you think Harper is toast.

CountLothian @ Wed Aug 19, 2015 9:32 pm

I think it was a wise move that they all left.

Better distance them selves from the crimes and what ever else they knew before the proverbial hit the fan.

They are teflon now because they left.

Those top people, were all part of an exodus for one reason.
The quality of their future jobs were at stake and they don't have the stench on them anymore.

Hell they are not even showing up at all on the campaign . Something the turn coat MacKay promised he would do.

PMO scandals? really I don't think they are any more or worse than any other party's PM's, or should we start talking about Chretien?

and just how did Harper ruin our economy? I am dying to hear this....

and where do you get this notion Canadians are less happy than 12 years ago? did you conduct a survey I am not aware of?

nice broad stroke of the brush I am sensing.

Probably no worse. But those scandals got the Liberals tossed from office and the same should happen here.

I don't think he ruined our economy, but given we are in a recession, I don't think he should be running on his economic record.

uwish @ Thu Aug 20, 2015 8:36 am

so if the global markets and the vast majority of G8 nations are all in recession, it's Harpers fault?

Yup. All Harper's fault.

Of course it's not his fault. He took credit for Canada's relatively light bruising in the 2008 debacle, although he didn't really do much to deserve that credit. Now he'll have to take his lumps because OPEC decided to flood the market with oil. That's politics.

uwish @ Thu Aug 20, 2015 8:44 am

at least you know how absurd you sound, that's progress of a kind...

I was being facetious in case that wasn't obvious.

andyt @ Thu Aug 20, 2015 8:49 am

The credit for how we came thru 2008 has to go to the Liberal govts before Harper, and the fact Harper didn't have a majority to enact any of his anti-regulation policies, but was forced by the opposition to add stimulus to the economy, instead of trying to balancing the budget at all costs, as was his intent.

But yes, he wants to run on his economic record, then that has to include any downturns. Funny how for CPC supporters, an economy doing well is all the result of the government, an economy doing poorly is beyond the control of same government. Well, except if it's a Liberal government, then the reverse is true.

If the Dips form the next government, and the recession continues, I can see the howling by the Harperites on day 2 how it's all Mulcair's fault.

This amended post of yours also rings true. Pretending it doesn't is a lie.

If it wasn't for Trudeau's hair there would be no recession.
